Guest guest Posted December 20, 2008 Report Share Posted December 20, 2008 Hi Everyone,We just came home from 48 hrs. at the hospital for a boil on 's butt that got gigantic and burst. Thursday night at bathtime I noticed a big swollen circle around it, about 8 inches wide. I ran him over to the ped. {thank goodness she had evening hours that night}. She admitted him right away and put him on IV clindamyicin. Thank goodness the culture came back neg. I think it is cellulitis even though she didn't really say. has never had this before.She now sent him home on oral clindamyicin. So my question is does anyone have experience with this drug? I'm terrified of the warnings of severe diarrhea and I read some horror stories. His butt looks a lot better already but I know I need to give it to him. It's also 2 tablespoons 3x a day which is going to be really hard. He already takes 2 seizure meds 3 times a day.I'd love some advice. I was thinking of trying the acidophilus.
