Holly,

I was wondering, how is Jake doing with the focalin? It was recently

prescribed for (he is currently taking Abilify) but I haven't

started it yet. Any effects good or bad? How much is he taking?

Thanks

Lois

ago. He is also still on Risperal. I wonder about the difference in

protocol between just DS and with the combo DS/ASD? No menion of it

in the article.

Hi, Everyone....Holly...what is focalin and how is it different from the

other meds? Glad to hear that Jake is responding well to it.

Take care, Everyone.

Margaret

We are only on day 4 but so far he seems to be doing well. We are only on 1/2

capsue for 7 days, then we go to the full dose (5 mg). I did not tell his

teacher or aid that we started and they both commented on the second day. They

said he was seeking out kids to play with instead of just letting them play

along with him. Also that he used more language. I have noticed more eye

contact....he actually snuggled with me yesterday and was touching my face and

looking into my eyes. That rarely happens but he stayed like that for probably

a full minute. He has been very clingy as far as following me around. However,

he is much more active like a typical child. Not just sitting in his room

watching tv. The first day he ate non stop but I don't know if that was a side

effect or the fact that he was home and bored.

Let me know how does when you start it. Anyone else using it?

FOCALIN XR is a central nervous system stimulant precription medicine. It is

used for the treatment of AD and ADHD disorder. It may help increase attention

and decrease impulsieness and hyperactivity in patients wtih ADHD. It cannot be

taken by anyone with heart issues.

At this point I am not seeing a decrease in impulsiveness which was our main

objected but he is more alert and aware of life in general.
