Guest guest
Amy, Most DAN docs are pediatricians that have learned the biomedical approach. Some test that they do are covered by insurance and office visits. However a consult may not be covered. Keep in mind these people are going to take more time than the usually 10-15 minutes you get with regular Dr.'s. You might ask if any of the test can be done by the regular pediatrician so your insurance will pay. The PANDAS test was done by 's ped here and sent to the DAN doc. I hope this helps. Then the added fun of oral meds for a boy who HATES them. I keep asking about the ear infection shot and no one seems to know what I am talking about. > Another question, is it normal for DAN doctors to not be connected to any insurance companies? We got a call to schedule finally... and they wanted $600 up front just for the consult and then additional money for the mandatory labs. I know my baby is worth it but wow! I thought I had good insurance but this was a new one for me! > Amy > Mom to Connor 3 1/2 years DS-ASD and Brenna 15 months NT > > > > >

Guest guest
On the flip some, SOME children become less active when sick, almost zoned out. I've seen that in a few of my students.
