Guest guest
We just started Amy (she's 4 1/2) on melatonin and have found that her sleep is more disrupted now then before. She wakes at 3:00 am and then again at 5:00 am. She always go back to sleep after we put her back in bed but nonetheless it is still disrupted sleep for both her and I. She has only been on it for a week so we are holding out for one more week as the guy at the store where we bought it told us it would take up to 2 weeks to have its full effect. Good luck. I previously posted about behavior... he is also exceptionally whiny as he is not sleeping. I think I am whiny too as I am not sleeping along with him!!!! I asked my ped when I was in last week about him not sleeping and didn't get an answer. We have tried Benedryl, makes him hyper, even less fun. Had about one blissful week on melatonin before the last few nights of up and down, up and down. My DH wants to stop the melatonin because he thinks it is at fault. I think it is that Connor just can't get rid of the blasted ear infection!!!! We are all getting sick of going to the doctor!!! I don't know what I am looking for in suggestions, I guess mainly wanted to vent and know if anyone had adverse reactions to melatonin. --------------------------------- Instant message from any web browser! Guest guest
Take him to an ENT specialist. They specialize in ears and in sleep issues, so that should be a major help with Connor. Good luck! Beth AAAARRRRGHGHHH I need to vent and ask for suggestions. Connor has been fighting ear infection for about a month... Guest guest
Geez, I feel for you. We just are getting over this with Noah, and he had issues for about a year and a half, the thing was he wouldnt take his meds to get better. Is he draining? If he is, you might want to get it cultured to find out exactly what it is and what medication would be best. We did this and found out is was staph. YIKES!!! You will probably need to get referred to an ent. Good luck.
