Guest guest
I wanted to give some feedback of how CMT has shaped me as a person. The other day i was having lunch with an older, wise woman who told me i was wise beyond my years and she asked me how did i become that way. I told her mostly due to CMT and other personal obstacles i have had to overcome along the way. CMT has taught me that just because your body says " no can do " , is no reason why the mind can't say " OH, YES I CAN " . Some people call my attitude stubborness, I call it perserverance. Along the way i have learned to pick my battles, which makes me a much more pleasant person to be around! I have been a member of for 7 years, i think. My how time flies! has helped me come to the realization that there are many many others out there with me fighting the same battles. That sure makes it easier to deal with. I love hearing how other people deal with their obstacles and I most enjoy helping others, kind of like a pay it forward! I have learned so much about my disability and have learned to become much more proactive and I most defintely attribute it to my family. I have always tackled this disease with a positive approach because I did not want pity or to be seen as a " weak " person. Because of that, every person in my life does not see me as disabled but very much abled. Jackie
