Guest guest
I do also have foot pain (achilles tendonitis and plantar fascjitis). I have used a personalized plantar for 1 year, which helped. Recently I tried an heel support called TULI'S, prescribed by doctor to my son and i feel even better. The problem is not solved at all, but pain is reduced. Guest guest
HELLO I see a few talking about foot pain, me too.... it felt like someone beat the bottoms of my feet with a bat.... sore and bruised feeling whether I stood up all day or slept all day.... I was walking all weird due to that and the other leg pains etc.... since being on meds all year this has diminished, the other day I had it for a day, I am now weaning off the meds, so thought it may be related. Seems many of us have the same weird stuff. C in VT

Guest guest
Hi all. Well I was referred to a podiatrist. I am having more difficulty standing on foot and much swelling around the outside and around the ankle. The x-rays showed a couple of possibilities for the problem. Am having an MRI next week, leaning toward diagnosis of tarsal coalition. Has anyone heard of this? Related to Spondylitis or RA (fusing)? May need injections and orthotics to start with. Have never had injections for pain areas. What will that be like? Thanks......... Stolla <sillyhil@...> wrote: Good luck to you . The pain in my foot was the worst thing I have felt in a long time. Guest guest
Hi Make sure that you are not displaying the initial signs of Reiters (Reactive Arthritis) Get some blood work done to see if anything shows up. For me, foot pain (swollen ankle and painful achilles) was the first stage of the 2nd major flare up that I have had with Reiters. I couldnt put any pressure on it all - it was so so painful. At first I didnt relate it to Reiters as it had been 15 yrs since my last attack and although I had problems with my ankles during the first flare up nothing like this. So initially I thought it was a sports injury as I had been running and doing sprint work. I went for a bone scan and an MRI all which showed arthritis and also a floating bone at the back of my achilles (not sure of the medical term for this). The ankle specialist wanted to operate however I just wasnt 100% that the ankle pain was purely an injury. Within a month my knee started to swell and I had incredibly bad sciatic pain so then I thought it could be Reiters however my GP and specialist did the tests - neg for HLAB27 and my ESR was in the normal range they both felt it was oesto arthritis. I also went to a podiatrist and had orthotics made. I wish at this point I had gone to a rheumatologist but I didnt so it wasnt until my other ankle and knee went on strike and my ESR went thru the roof to 120 that my GP reluctantly agreed that I could have been on the right track from the very beginning !! Regarding injections I had cortisone injections into my elbows and knees when I had my first bout of Reiters - it provided much needed pain relief. Good luck with it all Regards -
Guest guest
SB, First off, when I read what you did yesterday, I was going to be shocked if you felt good today. It's phenomenal that you were able to do all of that. I wouldn't even try (of course, I might wear 2.5 in. heels or re-arrange my living room for fun - ha!)! I am all too familiar with over-doing it and not realizing until the next day how bad I was. Secondly, since you stated that you do respond well to foot massage (reflexology), I am wondering if our local acupuncturist might be able to help you. He has an office on 40th and Classen and is a true Traditional Chinese Medicine Man. He lives here in Norman, but has offices in both Norman and OKC. He is listed in the phonebook under "TCM". An initial visit can range from $60-$100, but considering what you've been spending for pain management, it may not hurt...pun honestly not intended. Also, for the low back, I use "Wu Yang Brand" Pain Relieving Medicated Plaster that I purchase from Super Cao Nguyen at 25th and Military (right by the milk bottle on Classen). There is a pharmacy counter at the very front of the store and they generally carry them. A can (like Chinese loose tea leaves come in) is $7.99 (last time I bought one) and it contains a roll of plaster that measures 3.9 X 78.7 inches. I just cut off however much I need and it helps with inflammation and pain tremendously. Since I'm holding the can, I noted that there is a website: www.sosusaco.com. Here is a link directly to the product... http://www.sosusaco.com/product/productDetail.asp?iProductID=239 Seems I get a better deal locally, but if anyone else is interested, these are wonderful! Definitely worth $10.99. My acupuncturist marks up a box (which contains 10 - 3.9 X 11 plasters), which is also available through this website, to almost $20. Until I knew better, it was worth it. Dr. Xiaohai Li's phone number is 405.528.8880 and his exact address is 4001 N. Classen, #118. I believe he's in the City on Tuesday and Thursday. Of course, if you find a local reflexologist who's worth a darn, please pass this information along. Adam gets a little tired of rubbing my feet, but if he did it 24/7, I'd still want more! I hope you feel better very quickly. Pain sucks. kam
Guest guest
that's the thing -- it doesn't seem to me that scrubbing the hot tub should be a big deal. It definitely should not have taken all day -- but I did take frequent breaks. I even found an old small trash can to turn upside down and sit on while scrubbing. I am not looking forward to sanding it. The scrubbing made the wood not smooth. > > > SB, > > First off, when I read what you did yesterday, I was going to be shocked > if you felt good today. Guest guest
There is information in the Test matrix if you type in Foot or feet in the search box. There is also Foot pain & Foot Lesions (helpful for therapy even for the pain issues) in the Disease dictionary, go through each part and look for those which have answers. Add in the word shins (which brings up silicea) which may be of help. I have found wonderful results with the Cranial Sacral therapy in Spinal. Click on Test and treat until each page has the circle gone. Timed Treatments in Spinal do wholistic organ restorer to find out with the bone, nerve and muscle what needs the help. Short sarcodes also has a panel for Ear & Etc which includes Skeleton where you can work on the Tibia, fibula and the Tarsals, Metatarsals and Phylanges of the feet. In the spinal page for bones you will find foot at # 4138 & # 3535 (in fact the lower limb numbers start at 3516 so you can scroll and see if there are any others you want.). I hope these help you as they have for me. Yours in Health, Kathy Foot pain Hi all,I am hoping for some suggestions for a client of mine. He has had alot of sports injuries, but specifically we would like to work on his feet. He has shin splints as well as foot pain on the top and bottoms of his feet. I have worked in the clasp in various ways, searching and working on foot pain/foot lesions, as well as muscles and ligaments, nerves and bones in spinal and sarcodes, hips and knees in biofeedback. Also tried doing searches in the main test matrix and running those in the blue info grid. I could not find anything in the matrix specifically related to foot muscles, nerves, etc. (unless I didn't understand the term). These approaches have had limited success.I would welcome any suggestions or ideas. Thanks,Donna

Guest guest
and others, Well, I got a second opinion from a podiatrist and she confirmed Reiters is the cause of my foot pain now. It started as a minor plantar fasciitis and has turned into a ragine, hot inflammation. So, I'm in the wheelchair still because every step worsens the inflammation. I just started a Medrol Pack yesterday and the foot feels better already. I start physical therapy Friday. They are going to put steroid patches on the back areas. Once the inflammation is gone and I am stretched and in shape properly I can start walking for brief periods and see how I do and keep walking more and more. I am hoping to have this mostly licked in two weeks. I had arthritis in the ball of my foot a few years ago and it put me on disability for 6 months, but once I got rid of it, it never recurred! I have been having a whole body flare over the last few months--urinary inflammation and eye inflammation and the feet. The feet are the last thing to get over it, because they take the most abuse. , I hope everything calms down for you. My SI joint paint was the other reason I was on disability for a few months. I had recurrences for a few years, just for a day or so every now and again and all of a sudden it stopped. I haven't been plagued with that for a couple years now. I'll probably have it again at some point, but I'm enjoying it being gone. Good luck everyone and have a great day. *Unnecessary amounts of quoted text removed by moderator for poster. Guest guest
I finally broke down and bought a pair of Crocs (they are sooo ugly!) because I'd read that they were originally designed for athletes to wear after their games and that they were about the most comfortable shoe you could get - and cheap. They are . . . . . and I do go to a podiatrist but was going long before my PA diagnosis. If you get the right one, they can do wonders for you .. . . . . but not all are equal! The one I went to (now retired) is actually the guy who designed the orthotics that allowed Sebastian Coe (world class runner from England) to resume competition after his feet got so bad he could no longer run. Just worked out of a little office in a suburb of Chicago; but the first time I went to him, I could barely walk. He taped my foot (what he does initially with every patient - you keep it taped for two weeks). When I walked out of his office, I was pain free . . . . literally felt like I'd experienced a miracle. Guest guest
Hi , My main problem is my feet. They swell up and my toes look like they will actually pop. Really gross. I can't hardly walk in the mornings. Before the mxt and remicade, I couldn't walk at all. Anyway, as far as shoes, crocs are very nice. Also, moccasins feel pretty good. Because of work and professional dress codes, I can't always go with the crocs. I have bought some very professional looking moccasin type shoes. They are like being barefoot, while wearing a shoe. Take breaks when you can and put your feet up. I did see a podiatrist before I was dx'ed with PA. He gave me shots which did make me feel better, but only for a few days. When my feet get unbearable, I ask the rheumy for a prednisone taper. I hate to rely on pills-but it gets me thru the flare, and I can work. Gotta work-ugh! I hope you feel better soon, Tammie
