Guest guest
Hello, I'm new to this group, and wanted to ask for advice from people going through what we are. My husband has CMT-1A, and we have been trying for just over a year to have children. We are doing IVF with preimplantation testing for CMT. I have had two miscarriages and 4 negative IVF cycles. My doctor is concerned that there is some sort of genetic component going on where my husband's good copy of the CMT gene is maybe linked to another gene. I'm only 29 with no known fertility problems, so in theory getting pregnant should not be an issue. So here are my questions: 1. Have you had a child via IVF, and if yes, where was your IVF center. 2. Have you found any genetic linkages between the CMT gene and any other genes necessary for embryo development? I was a geneticist, and I have looked into this topic extensively and cannot seem to find any linkages between CMT and other genes. Any advice or help would be much appreciated! Guest guest
Lana, It took me two years to get pregnant once. I don't know if this is any indication of his personality but the kid is a real brat. LOL
