Hi nna,

Did you ask to see the written policy guidelines? Parents are often told some

things that are always so. If your district has this policy then that's it. I

would think that you have a daily communication notebook. If you have questions

set up an informal meeting with the teacher. I would also take advantage of

school volunteering. Why do you want to speak with the para instead of the

teacher?

Our school policy is that parents and paras don't communicate. It

insures that the licensed teacher is truly responsible for the child's education

and insures that the communication is direct from teacher to parent.

I am looking to see if there is anything on the " books " legally that says a

parent and para are not allowed to communicate, rather the teacher and parent

must???

Couldn't find anything on sLaw? I am looking to site legal precedent not

personal opinion.

Thanks in advance!!

nna
