Guest guest
My son, Trevor, is a 245 lb high school tailback. He and his team has been having a pretty good season however, in a game 10 days ago, he seems to have sprained his big toe on his right foot. It's a classic " turf toe " injury and he can't bear any weight on his toe when it is extended backwards. Since he weighs so much, you can probably surmise this is a problem. Two days ago he tried to play but really couldn't run effectively and decided to sit out the game after a few plays. Does anyone have any experience they can share on treatment, orthotics, and prognosis for this type of injury? The big game is this Saturday (5 days away). Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Try finding a local physiotherapist who specializes on joint mobilization. Often this provides immediate relief. The action for his situation would be to traction the toe while simultaneously moving it through a full ROM. Cowell Crested Butte, CO > My son, Trevor, is a 245 lb high school tailback.
