Guest guest
We switched to a van - not a HONDA- but still a van with only windows which could partly open (enough to throw things out maybe but not GET OUT) and we sat Elie in the third row - for the vibration- and so he couldn;t kick me or pull at me while I was driving. But we also had a harness for years which zipped up the back so he couldn;t get lose in the van. And we used child locks so the doors could not be opened from the inside. If he rode in the front seat with someone, he would knock the shift lever out of place! It is only the last few years (since he was 19 or 20) that we let him sit in front. HE LOVES riding shot gun, never throws things out of the windows, and doesn't open the door until he is told " seatbelt off " . > This is what helped us too, best investment purchasing our > Honda Odyssey van as enjoyed sitting on the back seat over the > tire where it helped stimulate that sensory input he seek. > Finally a some peace here not going on a panic attack with the > unexpected moments. > As a matter of fact one of my friends whose daughter with severe > autism rode in our van, ended up purchasing one when I gave her a ride > once.
