Hi Dick,

That is very interesting about Denver Bicycle. Does the city have good bike

paths/trails? We are working on getting some here, there are already ones by the

beach, but more are needed in town. Problem is streets are narrow and too many

cars.

Gretchen, they have a fantastic trail system over the entire metro area.

I've been told that there are 650 miles of trails in total.

I'd say that 85% of them are paved.

The Denver bike-sharing program started here in April of 2010. It's been

a great success.

As for congestion, Colorado passed a 3-foot rule regarding bicycles.

If you're passing a bicyclist on a roadway, you must maintain a three

foot distance
