Guest guest
It's encouraging to know that CMT will get other regional coverage during the telethon. This article <http://www.thebostonchannel.com/asseenon5/24842865/detail.html> is from WCVB TV in Boston. -- * " Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. Guest guest
Thanks for the link Dick! Great article! I might add, that in my opinion, no one should get so caught up on CMT not being MD. The bottom line is that for over 40 years MDA has helped patients with CMT and their families with services, equipment, camp and medical clinics. The statement that it is one of the most common forms of MD just means one of the most common diseases that falls under the umbrella of MD. Let's all try to move past the symantics of it all and be grateful to the MDA AND to the CMTA for all the research they are funding. Finding the cure is what's most important and as a mom I really don't care who finds it first, as long as it's found! To that end I will gladly support the telethon AND CMT Awareness activities AND The STAR Program. Just my thoughts.... > > It's encouraging to know that CMT will get other regional coverage > during the telethon. > This article > <http://www.thebostonchannel.com/asseenon5/24842865/detail.html> is from > WCVB TV in Boston. > -- > * " Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it. Guest guest
Well put, . I think each of us probably has s set reply for the inevitable 'What's CMT?' Right or wrong, what I usually say is that CMT is a type of peripheral neuropathy and is unique is the sense that it's hereditary. I was lead to the Boston article (I live in the Denver area)by using a Google feature, Google Alerts. You can enter a keyword (I have 'Charcot'set up as one the items I trace)and Google will constantly search for news occurrences containing the search term(s). The URL in order to set it up is http://www.google.com/alerts You may have to be 'signed up' with Google in order to use it. When Google gets a 'hit', I get an email with a link pointing to where the term was found. It can pull in more than you need/want. Because of that, I discovered that 'Charcot' is the name of the ship that is currently being used for Titanic imaging mission. > > > > It's encouraging to know that CMT will get other regional coverage > > during the telethon. > > This article > > <http://www.thebostonchannel.com/asseenon5/24842865/detail.html> is from > > WCVB TV in Boston. > > -- > > * " Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.
