Guest guest
Can anybody tell me how/where to get a DNA blood test to find out what type of CMT I have that doesn't cost a fortune? Thanks, Cheryl
Guest guest
Cheryl, Athena Diagnostics in Boston does most of the DNA testing. They have some sort of patient protection plan and do offer financial assistance. If you know your EMG/NCV results and family history, you may be able to hone in on only one test. Out here in Los Angeles, City of Hope tests for known types of CMT 2. I am not certain if they offer financial assistance. You may perhaps want to go through one of the CMTA's Centers of Excellence for testing - I am not sure what the cost is. Gretchen
