With the 5.7% raise, we hope to shortly start paying that ahead. There has

been discussion on this list about things which must come out of the SSD or

SSI when our kids do not live at home. Medicaid waiver specifically does

not cover room and board. So we pay a monthly amount for room, give ELie's

food stamps (he gets $80/month right now), and then we send 70$ month for

his own use. The rest we keep to pay his dental insurance (not covered

inour state ), clothes, trips, camp (which I THINK will be covered when his

money actually comes from waiver) - right now he is covered by a grant

pending waiver being " actually in effect " - a praocess that can take up to

6 months.

So complicated. And I think his food stamp amount will change when he is

reknewed - either up or down by some complex formula I have no hope of

understanding which has to do with the amount he pays for room, anad the

fact that his ISP states that he is learning to shop and cook, and depending

on the geographic area in which he lives.
