Guest guest
Gail... Since I didn't save the newsletters and don't remember the source (I'm lucky if I remember my name any more), I'll bow to your wisdom. I took valerian and passion flower for sleep problems for many years and had a great deal of success with the combination. But then, I also took Kava Kava for anxiety...and now it is well known to be detrimental to people with liver problems. And after my most recent 'thanks but no thanks' letter from a job interview, I'd just as soon have my liver give out completely before I am living on the streets and am having a terrible mental battle to not go out and pick up a bottle of bourbon to help it along. Tatezi (who is now going to no mail because I just don't care any more) Gail Samples wrote: > > It was me Tatezi that recommended valerian to Willem for > sleeplessness, if > lack of sleep is indeed the cause of his brain fog. Tatezi (who is now going to no mail because I just don't care any more) tatezi- Hang in there-are there friends who you could stay with if worse comes to worse? Any no-kill shelters in your area that could adopt the cats? Since you are so good with computers-could you do any freelance work, tutoring, etc? My brother and his wife supported themselves for a couple of years doing home word processing (Kansas City.) Do you still have that email you sent to Connie about baby steps? It sounds like you need to read it yourself. I'm not being a smart_ss, you sound terribly down, and when you're down you tend to forget things that might help you. Don't go out drinking-it won't kill you quick enough! I hope you come out of the funk soon- gail

Guest guest
Did I read on here a while back that CMT patients are not supposed to take Valerian? Could someone advise. I think my chiropractor wants to put me on a nutritional supplement that has valerian and B-6 in it. I already know about B-6 and that you're limited on what you can take. Guest guest
Carl, The only thing to watch for regarding use of Valerian is it's sedative-type effects. Like it may cause sleepiness or relax you to a point where your legs get wobbly (or more wobbly) As for the B6 - THAT is the one to watch for. Too much will exacerbate CMT. So you need to know what's in your diet (foods that have B6) and any other vitamins or supplements you take with B6 in them. Go to our Files, look up B6 and read the articles especially the one by Dr. Parry. Also look up your RDA amount required for your age on the Internet.
