Guest guest
, My CMT type was diagnosed actually AFTER the original diagnosis since I was a child and the technology was barely available and tortuosus. However, an adult baseline EMG/NCV test in 1997/8 showed all firings in the 'normal' range, thus suggestive of Type 2. I have not been DNA tested because there are but a few types of 2 that there are types for right now, and secondly my neurologist has concluded I have a Recessive type due to no family history. I'd rather take a primo vacation with the $ for testing and forget about what my subtype is! Secondly, I've had tendon surgery on both feet. Although this was many years ago, it has lasted quite a long time. Best to get several opinions from orthopedic surgeons who specialize in feet and know about CMT.
