Psychiatrists, Psychologists have nothing to do with it! Only one who

knows human dynamics and lives it!

As a psychologist I would say that your response reflects a parsing of

human behavior (e.g., into sport and other) that does not reflect

reality but perpetuates mythology. There are general principles that

are widely applicable. And, as with the " Paying the obese to lose

weight " notion, the (for lack of a better term) " ethnocentricity " of

those in this field, reflected in the " There is nothing others can teach

us " assertions, amazes me.

I am always surprised when people are full of questions, but insist they

already know the answers.

I do think that his comments that; " A psychologist, s once said,

can show you how to drive the car. The psychiatrist will lift the

bonnet, show you how

the engine works, then teach you to drive. When there's a breakdown, the

psychiatrist's pupil may be in the better position. " is ill-infomed and

antiquated.
