How I met Shadoe s

It was about 1969-70 and I listened to KHJ AM in Los Angeles. " Boss Jock " Shadoe

s gained my interest with his booming voice and energy, always bringing

out the best of music. One day, I had a chance to meet him formally through my

father's business. Young as I was and a bit starstruck, he was so friendly and

sexy, he really was Boss! (The word " boss " meant something hip, new, exciting

and the top of its class) He always signed off with…only the Shadoe Knows!

Leaving the listener anxiously waiting for more.

I followed him to KRLA and later KROQ-FM (K – Rock) during my college years.By

this time he was legendary, bringing us cutting edge, exciting new music which

later became known as " Alternative Rock " . I always liked his positive and

enthusiastic view of life.

Now, years later, via a mutual friend, this past July I asked Shadoe if he would

be willing to create a PSA for National CMT Awareness Week. After I explained

our CMT Awareness efforts he stated " it's definitely a worthy cause " and agreed

to produce the PSA.
