Guest guest
I have 3 on Singulair and haven't seen anything horrible with it. It does have red dye and aspartame in it. Guest guest
We use Singulair periodically for allergies and we have not seen any side effects from it. Unfortunately, we have not really seen any improvement from it either. H. On Dec 30, 2004, at 10:42 PM, Joy Brown wrote: > We are trying to use Singular to calm my son's immune system down. Guest guest
My son is VERY hyper-sensitive and he has been on singular for over a year with no problem. We quarter a chewable and have had good results. Christie
Guest guest
How old is he? Is it the 4mg or the 5mg? I was just asking because a quarter of that isn't much at all. Guest guest
I have singular compounded into a nasal spray. I personally did not care for the "other" ingredients in Singulair and that may be affecting your son. Look into having it compounded without those other things in there. Guest guest
My almost 6 year old has been taking Singulair since November for allergies/postnasal drip/chronic cough. He had had a chronic cough (from postnasal drip) that just wouldn't go away with what the ped and ENT had been previously prescribing. The side effects from all the other junk were so bad, causes behavior issues. I was fed up because all the meds they were telling me to give him were actually making him worse. The ped suggested a trial of singulair. My 3 yr old was already taking it for asthma and it works wonders for him. I was concerned because the chewable tab does contain aspartame. DS is very sensitive to most meds. However, so far I have seen no side effects. We started him on 4mg and recently have increased it to 5mg. I also give him Rhinocort once/day. It did take a few weeks before the cough was completely gone, but he is doing much better now. So I think this combination is working well for him. Now, if I can get him to blow his nose he'll be even better off. We've been working on this for at least 2.5 yrs. He just can't seem to get the hang of it. LOL Everyone is different. I hope that you are able to find something that works for your son soon. > We weren't using it for asthma. I know it sounds strange, but Dr Kartzinel was trying to reduce Duncan's inflammation and thought singulair would help. They said they have not seen this type of reaction. But, that's Duncan....he has side effects no else ever has had. Thanks. > Joy
Guest guest
This has me thinking about the Singular that I take everyday. I quit taking it to see if it was causing additional weakness and I ended up with bronchitis. So Singular can cause weakness? In a message dated 1/3/2011 9:55:26 A.M. Guest guest
Hi , Read through this very carefully because the combo of Singulair along with other medications, vitamins, supplements, may cause interference. A side effect of Singular is 'tiredness'. Pay attention to the others as well. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000003 Gretchen > > This has me thinking about the Singular that I take everyday. Guest guest
I take Singulair for my asthma every night before I go to bed and fortunately have not had a problem. My asthma has never been better! Since I take it at night, being tired is not a bad side effect at that time of day. Bonnie
Guest guest
Hi Bonnie: If you are weaker than usual, it could be the Singulaire. That's what it did to me. I took six months for most of my strength to come back and there was lasting weakness. I use Symbicort at night and that works for my asthma. I'm happy that Singulaire works for you. Cheers! C.
