Guest guest
Hi Bob, I am interested in getting more info on the Noodle AFOs. Are you still finding them helpful and do you have severe foot drop? I am located in Canada and I am interested for myself and also my son and daughter. Could you also tell me the approximate cost? Warm wishes, From: C m IDN Sent: Saturday, August 28, 2010 11:42 AM Subject: Re: Noodle AFOs for your son Lori, I just got a new type of AFOs called a Noodle. I am so impressed. I got these from Wade Bader. He has some you tube videos of a young guy who is wearing one due to a bad wake board injury. He had tried different types of AFOs and was not happy with any of them. Now he has a noodle and is so happy. I am too. There is very little skin contact so they afos will not be hot. Plus there is less in the shoe so getting shoes to work will be much easier. I'm wearing New Balance running shoes with mine in the video the guy wears mid cut Nike bball shoes. Maybe your son would like those and it would be easier on him and you when it comes time to find shoes. Wade Bader is in Tampa but will work through your local orthotist. I think its better to go to him if possible. He remade the pair he made for me because he wasn't satisfied with how the first pair fit. He did that overnight. Pretty good service, huh? I'm impressed. I think you will be too. Look for the you tube video. They are similar to the helix type of AFOs but don't cost the $12,000 that helixs do. They were the same price as regular AFO. Wade uses kevlar and graphite so his braces are thinner and stronger. Much better than those old plastic ones I had. Bob >
Guest guest
, I've been very happy with mine. I have footdrop and they work well. They were the same cost as any other AFO. Either you could come down to Tampa with the family for a short vacation or Wade Bader would work with your local orthotist. I would def recommend the noodles for you and your kids. I'm sold on them. Did you watch the youtube video on them? It's one of a guy who has bad footdrop due to a wakeboard injury and they work great for him and he had tried all kinds of AFOs. It shows him running in his. Not sure I can run in mine but they are so good, haha. I think you will be impressed with Wade and how much he wants you to have an afo that works. He remade mine while I was down there cause he didn't like how the first pair fit. Bob > > >
