(NOTE: My friend Jordana is a Genetic Counselor is Los Angeles and just sent me

this news. Thought members might be interested)

(NOTE: *** If you would like to talk with Jordana personally, let me know and

I'll put you in touch.)

I am contacting you because you are all amazing people and advocates in each of

your own way for genetic disease awareness. Some of you know how strongly I

believe in the importance of knowing and understanding your family health

history. As a genetic counselor, it is the most effective tool I use to help

determine a person's hereditary disease risks. However, family health history is

not just important to people and families affecting by rarer Mendelian genetic

diseases but common disease like cancer, diabetes, heart disease as well.

Based on feedback, we have created our first version of a Family Health History

tool which allows families to collectively and securely input their family

health history information. We then analyze this health information to provide

each family member with a Health Guide to share with their doctor that

identifies hereditary disease risks and ways to lower these risks when

available.

" Version 1.0 " of this tool is available at http://www.InheritedHealth.com/ right

now. I would love to talk to each of you personally about how we could help you

and your family improve your health and the problems you all face when

communicating your health information with doctors and family members.
