Guest guest
Hi , I am the chilly-feet queen! Always had chilly feet and hands, and now I suspect I was subclinical hypO. Sounds like you are taking more medication than you need. Have you had labs done recently? And are you on inderal only? At 05:05 PM 10/27/2003, you wrote: >hi all, >I have hyperthyroidism and i am on inderal and my feet and hands are are >freezing cold it is more my feet than hands and i have been on inderal for >a couple of years but my cold feet have just started borthering me does >any one else have this problem please respond >thanks, kelly
Guest guest
, It does make sense that if you were borderline that inderal alone would be indicated. A pulse around 80 is not low, but rather high normal, at least for most people. Below 60 is usually considered hypO. But your other symptoms sound like hypO. Or perhaps due to overmedication. In case you aren't familiar with the tests, it is best to get Free T3, Free T4, TSH, and I would get antibodies checked (TSI and TPO-antibodies). You will probably need to requests these tests specifically. Good to get and keep copies of all your lab results in a notebook. If you need help interpreting, you can post here or at mediboard.com. Good luck with your endo visit, and let us know how you're doing. Guest guest
Nil, Cold extremities in PWC's can be caused by thick blood or Raynaud's. With Raynaud's the blood vessels in the extremities constrict when exposed to cold and enlarge when exposed to heat. This process is normal but in people with Raynaud's there is a major overreaction in both directions. Guest guest
Nil, It will be interesting to know how long this effect lasts. For your sake, I hope for a long time. I suppose thermal baths will have similar benefit compared to the FIR sauna. Possibly an extra benefit of minerals in the water? Mark > Hi all, > > I could not remember why we had cold feet. Guest guest
Hi Mark and all, Mark, thanks for your concern. Yes,I am very happy about this.It is so good to have warm feet again. Not only that I had much better digestion there.Almost perfect.I was not being able to eat many things when I went there. Just as an example only thing i would tolerate in the morning was green olives and some virgin olive oil.I was continually loosing weight. 3-4 days after I went there i introduced some tomatoes and cucumbers to my breakfast, than couple of days later I wished to eat butter, than black olives and eggs. By the time I left the place I was being able to have complete breakfast including some cottage cheese. That was wonderful. You can't believe how wonderful it is to wake up in the morning wishing to eat eggs.(I had not eaten eggs for months).I was being able to eat very little meat when I went there and at the end of my therapy I was able to eat 3 times a day meat.I also started to be able to eat some white bread without severe allergies.I was getting hungry. I had not been getting hungry for long time.I think this thermal water acts in couple of ways. (All of them act in different ways.) This one kills candida, regulates or boosts pancreatic enzymes and bile, detoxifies the body, strengthens liver, helps kidneys, corrects stomach acid problem, gives minerals and increases internal temp as you said.I have observed related changes at my body.I both drank the water and bathed. unfortunately I could not bath much due to my exhaustion and heat intolerance. Normally people take 1 bath a day (Some take 2 if they can handle). I was able to take only 7-8 baths during 2 months time (1 bath and than approximately one week resting time to recover)but I drank the water regularly twice a day I also took 7-8 foot baths(easier than complete bathing). My feet started getting warm when I was over there. I was so happy and surprised.I gained about 8-9 lbs. over there within 2 months which is wonderful. I was not being able to tolerate Chlorella before. I started taking Chlorella there and went up to 3 grams per day. So,apparently my Chlorella intolerance was due to gut problems not due to mercury toxicity.I am still on Chlorella,I am wondering how long I will be able to take it.I must add that there was fresh air over there with lots of negative ions, some organic food, less stress and some massage therapy. These must have contributed, too. The least improvement I had was on my brain problems. They got less but not disappeared. Now I am back. I am closely following my condition. It has been about a week. My feet still warm.I was taking gingko previously which I don't take any more. I will start taking it when my feet restarts to get cold. I don't think it will last long. If it lasts for a month I will be happy.I know that this was not a complete cure for me but it saved me some time, increased my life-time and having found something that helps you is really mood lifting. It also taught me that fixing gut problems is very important.(Rich was mentioning that before) I will from now on concentrate more on that.I was in quite bad shape before I went there.I was in life and death struggle. My adrenals at this point are not in very good shape because I set my first priority as detoxing over there and I used a little hot water. Not much but little hot.I also sweated alot.these made my adrenals little tired. Not much improvement on that side. I am nowadays resting to improve condition of my adrenals.Unfortunately I have cold symptoms today. This will disturb everything. This will place extra load on my body and I may not be able to make correct evaluation from now on. I already was not able to eat meat this afternoon because of the high viral load on my body. Mark, I have a question for you. Does adrenal cortex extract contain only corticosteroids or does it contain some mineralcorticoids and 17-ketosteroids.I am having bigger eye bags when I increase the dosage of ACE. I am trying to find out the reason. I am specifically interested if ACE contains aldosterone. Have I given my condolences to you?If not please excuse me and accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Dr.Poesnecker. He was very special for me and I learned a lot from him. I am very sorry. Thanks. Nil Re: cold feet Nil, It will be interesting to know how long this effect lasts. For your sake, I hope for a long time. Guest guest
Tyrosine 500 mgs on an empty stomach solved the cold feet/hands thing for us. Good luck, [ ] Cold Feet My son has very cold feet and refuses to put on slippers or socks. We are in Canada and it is -20 right now and seems not to notice. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on what is happening. Is he missing something in his supplements or diet. He also does not like to wear clothes(except for his favorite shirts). He is currently on Armour 1/2 grain a day and is taking NDF-plus. Thanks for any help, Lu =======================================================

It can be a sign of hypothyroid. Dana
Guest guest
Yup , Often a condition called Ranaulds (sp?) is related to RA. It is a circulation disorder that effects primarily the hands and feet. Last week someone else asked and every one piped up with that answer too, so I feel pretty confident. Im sure one of these helpful souls will be answering you shortly with websites and articles that you can check out. They will sometimes perscribe something called Procaria, which I tried, but went off because it made me feel weird. (But everyones different.) Ive learned to sleep in really warm socks! Again, Im not sure of the spelling but it is pronounced " Raynauds " . Good luck, keep warm!! melanie --- <kyrik@...> wrote: > > Does anyone have trouble with cold feet? Guest guest
Hi Mr. Leftie, Thanks so much for updating us on your wife's surgery! And please tell her we said hi and are thinking of her. I myself haven't had revision surgery yet, but I am not surprised that her pain is intense, since it is such a big surgery. However, if her pain is not controlled to a tolerable level by whatever medicine she is on, I would insist that her doctor authorize something stronger. What does her doctor think about the cold, numb feet? Best wishes for her steady recovery and thanks again for posting, loriann > > Good Morning to all, > > My wife had surgery on 6/26 consisting of an L5 to S1 fusion and an > ostiotomy which extended her '69 Hotrod, grafting from the hip and > getting her a 37 degree correction to look straight. > > I have read some on post op what ifs and she seems to be coming along > ok. Guest guest
Thanks, LoriAnn Well, I saw her X-rays/CT pics and I understand a little more than when I last wrote. It appears she has a second rod to help with the fusion and the osteotomy which had a 33 not a 37degree reduction/subtraction done. Her numb pain may be due to " Restless Leg Syndrome " which was prior to surgery. The Doc gave her Lyrica to deal with it. That did do it for her with a bonus of her not needing so much pain killers. She only has the Oxy time release pill and two doese of Vicadin yesterday compared to drugs every two hours!!. Her blood pressure went back down to pre-surgery levels of 118/75 not the 160-180/80 levels she was experiencing lately. PT is coming along, some days are good, some not so good. Overall, we're both hanging in there, waiting to go home. She had a setback with a drainage issue and that has to clear along with the strength coming back before she is discharged. Everyone take care.
Guest guest
I am glad that they were able to find something to help your wife, and I hope that the drain issues clear up soon so that she can come home. Is she still in the hospital, or is she in a rehab center? > > Thanks, LoriAnn > > Well, I saw her X-rays/CT pics and I understand a little more than > when I last wrote. > > It appears she has a second rod to help with the fusion and the > osteotomy which had a 33 not a 37degree reduction/subtraction done. > > Her numb pain may be due to " Restless Leg Syndrome " which was prior > to surgery. Guest guest
Just feet. I used to put socks for him when he goes to bed. The situation has improved recently. I used to get very cold feet. It's better. I used to throw my shoes out every few weeks, washed all socks in hot water, poured peroxide into my shoes regularly, and treated my feet with tea bags and other topical treatments. I am still treating my feet but less than I was and I have fewer problems with cold feet. My feet have also shrunk. I am wearing a smaller shoe size. Guest guest
Best thing I've found for cold feet is the " Bed Buddy " which you can get in most drug stores for $10. You can pop it in microwave for slightly over a minute, put it under the cover when you go to bed and voila no cold feet. Also while watching tv, I sometimes use it.
