Guest guest
I am buying seeds for little round carrots and so they are growing from seed. I will not be using chlorine on them nor will I be sanding them in any way. So they are either round or they are not. I am pretty sure that one was organic and the other was Parisienne. But when I plant seeds, the final result can't have chlorine put in the carrots or be sanded down. Whether the Parisienne type were organic or not, I don't know. I haven't bought them yet and I cancelled out the parisienne ones since organic was good enough.  So I can't see how anyone can think that the baby carrots are just filed down or scrubbed with chlorine. They aren't going to be baby carrots until after they grow and none of that is going to happen to my babies. (If they grow but I am more optimistic about growing veggies than I have ever been in my life.) I have actually eatten some lettuces and some basil and a strawberry. I got a few tomatoes off before but hope to get a lot more.  Carolyn Wilkerson  To: " sproutpeople " <sproutpeople > Sent: Monday, May 28, 2012 6:56 PM Subject: Re: Re: Baby carrots  I saw it on an episode of " How It's Made " . Even in this article, it says about the chlorine used. Not only am I allergic to chlorine (it is an amine-many people have sensitivities to amines without knowing that is what causes MANY health issues) but I don't want chlorine on my food even if I wasn't allergic. Too bad they went from a simple polish to dousing them with chemical peeling. I put my " uglies " in my Presto Peel-a-meal and it rounds them out just perfectly-I use the scrapings that are left in the machine for compost tea. >> >> >> >> >>> >>> Baby carrots >>> http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/83226 >>> >>> >>>
Guest guest
The type of carrots you are growing ARE baby carrots-the ones sold in grocery stores as " baby carrots " are NOT baby carrots, but polished regular carrots. > >>> > >>> Baby carrots > >>> http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/83226 > >>> > >>> > >>>
