Triple Arthrodesis question

I have a triple arthrodesis (+ many other things!) performed on my poor left

foot last March. The surgery was a great success, totally alleviating the

incredible pain I was getting before the surgery. However, I have a weird bone

pain since the surgery, and me and my surgeon have decided to remove the

hardware in January, to see if for some reason the pins/screws/staples are

causing the pain. Has anyone else had hardware removal after triple

arthrodesis, and what was the reason for it? What was the recovery period after

surgery, and are you glad you had it done?
