Guest guest
Bed. Bath and Beyond sells the OXO. I bought the big one because it holds a full batch of sprouts all at once. ew Re: Wow!! Guest guest
I use the electric potato peeler gizmo (it came with a salad spinner). I never use it for potatoes. I dump my sprouts in and in five seconds, it spins all the water out. Best money I ever spent on Ebay. I think I'm using this thing for 2 years now. Melody > > Bed. Bath and Beyond sells the OXO. Guest guest
What does the electric potato peeler do? I use a ceramic peeler and they work great. Bed Bath and Beyond has a very inexpensive, and probably cheap ceramic knife and ceramic peeler for about $14.95. I bought one in CA as my daughter's knives were dull. The knife and peeler worked really well. I peeled apples too. It may break in 6 months or a year, but it sure works well until then. I read some negative reports but the few times we used it there, it was doing really well. I can't afford to get a good ceramic knife, not when I have a decent set of knives and at my age. My kids will probably throw away all the stuff I have bought and think are great when I go. So I'll just try to stay around for awhile.  I understand the salad spinner, but what about the electric potato peeler? It can't spin can it? or does that turn the salad spinner some way? I may have to check out ebay first. Many times their prices are more, just don't know until you check. Guest guest
Broccoli is one of my favorite veggies, too, but sometimes the smell is too cabagey. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2012 9:30 PM Subject: Re: Wow!! Guest guest
I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was just slightly cheaper than the best price I found online. R. Guest guest
Carolyn: What I use to spin my sprouts is called the Presto Peel a Meal. I got it for $8.00 on Ebay a few years ago. I had the OXO but the constant pumping was hard on my hands so a lightbulb went off in my head and I went online to find out if there was such a thing as an electric salad spinner. There were commercial ones but not regular use ones. Until I found a video on this Presto Peel a Meal. I saw that it came with a salad spinning attachment. I went to ebay and got this beauty for $8.00. Made a video some time ago to show how it works. Here you go. I do ALL my brassicas this way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rW5ZpBJM3Cs Melody > > > > Bed. Bath and Beyond sells the OXO. Guest guest
I also have the Presto Peel a Meal-FABULOUS gadget! I use it for peeling all of the root veggies (beets, turnips, kholrabi, etc) that I grow in my garden. I would be lost without it. Works great as a salad spinner too, but super for peeling. > > > > > > Bed. Bath and Beyond sells the OXO.
