Guest guest
And this is brand new news to you??!!!! SS and SSDI were never set up to give " full retirement " or " full disability " benefits - I mean you won't receive as much from Social Security or SSDI as you did while you were working full-time. This is the 2nd year in a row SS and SSDI recipients do not receive a cost of living adjustment. In its 2006 report, the Social Security Board of Trustees projected that the OASDI program will begin experiencing cash flow deficits in 2017, and in 2040 will be unable to make all scheduled benefit payments on a timely basis, under the Trustees' intermediate assumptions. Should that outcome be realized, beneficiaries will realize a 26 percent reduction in benefits in 2040, with that reduction gradually increasing to 30 percent by 2080. http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/expectmore/detail/10008001.2006.html http://www.wv/omb/expectmore/detail/10000370.2003.htmlhitehouse.go http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/expectmore/agency/016.html http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/expectmore/detail/10002348.2007.html
Guest guest
They should though - not a life of luxry but basic subsistance. I'm disabled and on SS and my wife willl apply soon - she is working ootside and will continue as long as her job holds. They can always stoip the wars fo rno purpose and deport the iillegals and that will be plenty of money. Guest guest
The name of the game is to take from the poor and give to the rich! Geri It appears that Washington may target SS (and possibly SSDI) for cuts in the future. Any thoughts?
Guest guest
Here is a link http://www.fiscalcommission.gov/sites/fiscalcommission.gov/files/documents/CoCha\ ir_Draft.pdf to the draft briefing of the President's BI-PARTISAN committee recomendations. I draw your attention to Slide #4, item 2, specifically " ...shared sacrifice... " Also, look at slide 36, " ...robust public option ... " IMNSHO, this draft plan is a pretty good road map. Also IMNSHO, this plan will never be activated because each constituency will loudly complain how THEIR piece of the pie cannot be cut, and in fact should be increased. > > It appears that Washington may target SS (and possibly SSDI) for cuts in the future.
