Guest guest
Hi Melody, Very happy to hear of your success stories on Sunnies and Pea Shots. For sunnies, I am able to grow just in water but I have one question on the pea shoots. Did you use green peas or the marrowfat peas as shown in the youtub video you shared. Do you end up having very leafy pea shoots and do you use them in salads? Before you started this round, I have always been growing my pea shoots in my automatic sprouter, water only. They grow quite a few inches tall and have a lovely green colour and fresh sweet taste. Except, they are skinny by my standard. You know, Chinese like to stir fry their snow pea shoots. Then at around the same time you tried yours, I put my last batch of green peas to work, using organic soil. Wow, they grow to much larger leaves, but not as large as the marrowfat pea shoots. I was able to use them in salad, except they are a bit chewy. So I juiced them instead. Will try marrowfat peas next time and snow peas if I can source them. > > Well, after much experimenting with various things to green up my sprouts, I found I had so many trays that needed direct sunlight, as opposed to the sproutgarden trays that need indirect sunlight, and because I know I'll be sprouting up a sunflower and pea shoot storm from now on, I had to come up with a place that would get all the sunshine and a place where I could fit ALL of my trays. > > And I got my kitchen back and I can now put my Vitamix back where it belonged. Hello Banana Ice cream vitamix style. > > The beauty of doing what I did is that I can have the microgreens covered and in the dark while they get the roots dug in, and then I can just take off any covering and have them SUN up!!! > > I can fit ALL of my trays, even the super one with the humidity dome. > > Here you go!! And I'm not changing it any more. This works for me. lol > > > > Melody > Take a look. And this is it for me. >
