Guest guest
Melody, I use the STG pads and they work very well. I cut to size to fit various trays and raised mixed microgreens, onion sprouts, sunnies, beets, brccoli as greens, etc. on it. Pad and roots go into compost. I bought a couple of ten-packs of the 10 " x20 " size pads a couple of years ago. Well, they last quite awhile when cut to needed sizes; near the one-year anniversary of the purchase, the company sent another order. I notified them twice of the repeat shipment but got no reply; they also never attempted to charge me for it (dang straight they didn't!). So I finally kept it and am well-supplied. Six months later, same scenario repeated. Why is this story amusing to me? Because it's a hydroponics supply company, which for us is all about sprouts and veggies; but for some folks (including a few friends of mine), " hydro " is about how to sprout and clone pot plants. Most ordinary sprouters/gardeners don't need to have a reflective zipped closet-liner with grow lights and humidity vents. I imagined giggling warehouse workers packing from last year's order sheets. Molly > I'm trying to see how they differ from Coir in growing my micro-greens. These are supposed to be right out of the box, no mess, no nothing so if this is true, I'll give it a whirl. I bought them online so now I shall wait and you know I'll show all of you how it goes. lol
Guest guest
If it is true coconut fiber, they will work fine, but if you mean " mats " like doormats, not so much, as they are likely synthetic and/or re enforced with other plastics or fibers. Some of the plant liners that they sell are synthetic too, so check the labels. > > > >  i DID see some coconut fiber mats at Home Depot. I wondered if one could grow in them. I can't fid the coir here >  > Carolyn Wilkerson > > >  > > > To: sproutpeople > Sent: Saturday, March 31, 2012 10:00 PM > Subject: I just purchased some Sure to Grow Mats > > >  > I'm trying to see how they differ from Coir in growing my micro-greens.
