Guest guest
Last week was quite a blur. In the morning I tried to get up to do my usual bathroom run and could not move a muscle. I don't remember much about the actions that took place next but I do know that my wife called 911 and I found myself in the ER of the local hospital. The doctor told my wife that my CK (Creatine Kinase)enzyme levels were very high and that I would be admitted. The next day I saw th doctor who told me that my CK levels were still somewhat elevated but had decreased significantly and that they had been concerned that I had had a stroke or heart attack. That was not the case. I was released later in the afternoon with moderately high CK levels. Since being home I've done some research on CK and learned that it is not uncommon for us with CMT to have higer than normal CK enzyme levels since our muscles are progressively being damaged over time and release CK into the bloodstream. Anyone else experience this problem? -wheels
