I had all of the needle pricking and tests like that done before and of course

asked all kinds of questions, etc... But my neurologist never told me which type

of CMT I have.

My problems caused from CMT were very high arches and overturning ankles all the

time. I also have scoliosis.

I had major foot reconstruction done on both of my feet 12 years ago. They cut

wedges out in my heel bones, I have a screw in each of my big toes, I have a

staple in one heel and a screw in the other. I also had a tendon moved in each

foot to help to keep my ankles from overturning all the time. They had attached

the tendon to the bottom of my foot with a button until it healed and then the

button was removed. OH YEAH! I had 9 incisions on each foot!

My feet are better but NOW I cope with back problems and it is really starting

to affect my hands alot more since I am getting older. I do not have proper

strength in my hands, I've already had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and I

have arthritis in my one thumb, AND my hands really cramp up alot.

My doctor is treating me for Restless Leg Syndrome, but is that what it really

is? Or is it just something caused by the CMT? They have me taking Requip, a

muscle relaxer, and Neurontin. BUT my muscle cramping and spasms are getting

worse and worse.

I moved from PA to Florida 8 months ago. My doc in PA gave me Oxycodone to take

during the day when my legs got really bad because the Requip just makes me fall

asleep so I could not take that during the day. BUT I only took the OXY when I

could not stand my legs spasming any more during the day. I really liked the OXY

because it helped and did not make me fall asleep during the day.

AND my doc in PA knew I was not abusing the OXY because she would give me a

script for 30 at a time and it would last me 3 months or so. THEN I get this new

do here in Florida and she took me off of the OXY and has me taking the

Neurontin, Requip, and a muscle relaxer and it is not working. I sit down during

the afternoon to just relax and my legs start carrying on and it gets so bad I

just want to CHOP them OFF!!!

GGRRRRR

Frustrated
