my son lived in El paso a few years and traveled quite a bit in NM and in AZ.

They got tired of the desert quickly.  They loved to visit there but not to

live.  Their pool was cold as it drops so low at night.  Days were hot.  Had

probems with the pool heater.  Soon got where they couldn't go over to Mexico

except he had to go over every day to work.  They are happy to get back into

Michigan.  They have a bigger plot of land, a smaller nd older house but like

the trade off. Were you in a condo community where you can't breathe unless you

get it passed by the HOA?  My sister's is like that though really nice and lots

of activities and all seniors.  But they end up regulating too much.  Here in

the mobile home park it is about the same way, but if we do it attractively and

zoning doesn't come after us, they pretty much leave us alone.  We got some

people from church to come out and paint a woman's home which had to be pained

and cleaned up or

she'd have to go.  We helped her with getting some people who would furnish

work and furnished paint as well.  We try to keep ours lookin nice.  The

French are very picky about their homes and they are always cleanning and fixing

up.  One was waxing her mailbox one day.   So the mobiles here are looking

pretty good.  Language is a barrier though.  I hope you continue to like where

you are.  You are close to a lot of things there - So many nice western states.

My son and his family liked the skiing and went up to Breckenridge in Colorado

and to Utah for some of the slopes there.

hi carolyn ( and everyone else ).....i'm not from kentucky or tennessee.....i'm

from canada

i like your area of florida.....we've made many, many trips down that

way.....there is alot to see in florida and we have probably seen most of

it.....yes, it is hotter in midstate than it is near the coast

we retired to the mountains in northern new mexico.....no, we're not near the

ocean anymore but it is a whole new world to explore and learn about.....we

didn't leave florida because of the heat, although the cooler temperatures are

nicer for working outdoors.....we just wanted some space and more

freedom.....peace, mary
