Guest guest
This is great news since I do have type 2A. I'm going to stay positive on this and maybe some day I can have this treatment to better my life. age
Guest guest
I am also keenly interested in the stem cell research into CMT treatment. I understand that the latest treatment that Gretchen alluded to applies to CMT2, however I have CMT3 (the most severe strain of CMT) with genetic testing revealing abnormalities in the gene PMP 22. Because we have not yet received detailed information of the latest stem cell treatment and its proposed application for CMT 2, I am obviously very interested in knowing whether this will also relate to a treatment for CMT 3. I don't want to sound desperate, (but I am) since I have had a serious degree of deterioration in my condition over the past two years particularly (now confined to a wheelchair with virtually no use of my hands and legs and now have major respiratory issues as well). Please keep me posted of any details which become available relating to stem cell treatment which could be appropriate, and the sooner the better.
