Guest guest
Hi , I was very encouraged by the exercises you are doing which help with balance, strength and walking without use of a brace. My CMT is very mild at the moment (sensory, with some weakness but no foot drop). I met with a physical therapist for several sessions and am now doing daily exercises for proprioceptive and strengthening of ankle and thigh muscles, and stretching of the calf muscles. I am very interested in knowing what you are doing for gait training. I think so much of our knee, hip and back pain problems can be traced to our walking. My physical therapist wasn't much help in this area. She felt the balance issues were a bigger concern at this point. So I went online and found a book called " Preventions Complete Book of Walking " , and in the back is a program called Dynamic Walking which takes you through 6 weeks of various exercises to help you walk correctly. I am at the beginning of that, but am looking for all the information I can find that deals with gait training. Just wondering what you are doing in this area?
