Guest guest
Hi, As many of you know, I am in the process of learning to run and build strength, while having CMT1A. I just blogged about the protocol I am doing, with some reference to recent research that is guiding the approach I am taking with my neurophysiotherapist Gita Ramdharry and my triathlon Coach Terence . http://www.beatinglimitations.com/blog/post/20110301-running I realise that everyone is at different levels of ability and impacted differently by CMT. I would not suggest embarking on this type of training without first consulting medical guidance. My protocol is monitored closely by a coach and a researcher. But, like has pointed out, although the efforts are long, and the time it is taking is also great, the improvements I am feeling are noticeable. I am a different person from a year ago with regard to my leg strength, stability, and ability. Feel free to let me know any questions you might have.
