Guest guest
Jon, My experience is this. I was diagnosed with CMT 5 years before I started taking Ritalin. It helped me tremendously with fatigue and allowed me to have a very full high school life, not only academic work, but work on the yearbook and every dance committee (and going to every dance), plus an after school job. I was on it about 6 years, then off because I started having tremors and my energy/fatigue was no longer an issue but the tremors were and were treated differently. Did the Ritalin make my peripheral neuropathy worse? No. I just carry the Roussey Levy mutation for tremors. They would have probably appeared sooner if I had not taken the Ritalin. Searching here http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/ for CMT, HMSN, and Ritalin brings nothing to suggest Ritalin causes PN. You may want to search more under general PN.
