Guest guest
Jayne, I started having really major problems when I was 33. I thought I had cancer and was going to die. I find it quite assuring to know that though I'm degenerative, I'm not terminal. And I must say, now that I am 35, and the youngest person in my hydrotherapy pool by 20-40 years, it's nice to know that I am not alone. It's hard to be a mom and deal with the day to day stuff, working, keeping up the home and being a good wife and mother. Just wanted to say that I enjoy not being alone at my age. Guest guest
Amy--Jayne I'm right here with you...I turned 35 In sept. On my birthday, I took my first dose of mtx. Not a great day. My eleven year old daughter is a fantastic softball player and plays for tournament teams. This saturday was an effort for me to get up and go. Its nice to know there are others that feel this way as well. Im trying to be more positive and talking with people like you helps. Thanks --- " sherman.fam@... I had one acquaintance " tease " me about the patches on my elbows being rust from the rainy weather I'd been in after a lengthy stay in the Pacific Northwest. His having made this remark in front of the company of others, I was _not_ amused. I've achieved my middle-age status with many a long-sleeved shirt and long pants; it's just been so much easier than fighting the dratted spots sometimes. (Sun has helped, but now we have to be careful with that, too, don't we, what with skin cancers on the rise.) Anyway, best of luck to you in doing anything that keeps you sane with PA!! Guest guest
Have you tried the ultravioliet light therapy? I'm going again next month, it's high intensity but controlled and monitored by a registered nurse at my local hospital. > > Most people are to polite to ask questions > > about the red patches on my arms while other say such lines as " Is it >catching? Guest guest
hi, i am 37. i first started having trouble when i was 30. i had to quit working when i was 32, and started receiving disability. i have 3 kids, 12, 11 and 7. fortunately, for the last couple of years, my psoriasis has been tolerable, and my pain managable. the pain never goes away, but it doesn't control my life anymore. i can pretty much do what i want, i never was a real physically active, sportsy, outdoors person, so i don't miss what i never cared too much about anyway! i do miss working, hopefully one day i can go back. i have learned to listen to my body, i know how far i can go without having to pay for it for a week, and my kids are tremendously helpful around the house. my husband has never doubted me when i say i can't do something, but he encourages me to try. it took a while, but i learned that i am stuck with this disease, but it isn't going to ruin my life. it may not seem fair that you got this disease so young, but now that you have, how you deal with it is the important thing. you have all our support, and we are all here to help. good luck susan in ohio

Guest guest
Just turned 34 a month ago. I still feel like a little kid pretenting to be an adult. When does this " wisdom " thing set in? or does it? Becky > I'm curious as to what our age ranges are on this list. Did anyone read > the story about Lorinde in the March Energy? Guest guest
the wisdom thing doesn't set in! what really freaks me out is when my dh goes away and I'm left alone and RESPONSIBLE for seven children ON MY OWN!! I kind of feel like someone's going to find out that I'M watching the kids and come and raid the house (like WHO does she think SHE is!) dh leaves for thailand in the morning for 10 days (farthest and longest he's been away). > > I'm curious as to what our age ranges are on this list. I have 1 week and a half to go on this challenge. I have found myself messing up this entire week. Guest guest
I'm 41. And I can't wait to check out that issue of MM and see the 94 year old hottie! I wonder about aging a lot now, watching my 75 year old mom. I don't mind aging but want to stay strong. Robin
Guest guest
Angie, I am the total opposite when it comes to the scale. I even look away at the Doctors office, I think I liked denial. But I really don't want to get on the scale until every 2 weeks, because I am sooo afraid of being discouraged!!! But on the other hand I want to see .... I have lot to lose. I just hope I can get at least 20lbs off this challenge. Holly...also in Iowa :-) Well, I turn 32 on Sunday. This year is the first since I turned the " dreaded 30 " , that I am happy to have a BD. I feel like I am really doing something healthy for myself and it's working. I have " scale ' issues and surely need some therapy to keep myself from getting on mine EVERY morning! LOL! but, I am trying to do with weighing myself once a week instead. I feel stronger, leaner and nicer! GOOOOOOOOOOO BFL! Guest guest
Hey Holly, where are you? I have a lot to lose too. I am C1W6D5 and am down 11 #'s. I don't know my begining BF so I have no idea if it has dropped. I am 5'4 and started at 231 now 220. YAhoooo! I knew I felt better and my jeans were lose but I had to SEE the numbers drop on the scale. My friend --also doing BFL---thinks I am a freak and she has threatened to come take my scale away! I think she's right!! LOL! I don't know about you, but so many of the " fad " diets that I have tried produce immediate 5-10 pound results. I was really getting bummed that BFL @ 5 1/2 had failed to produce those results. Well, duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I wonder why I am trying a new " diet " ! Obviously, those diets didn't work b/c here I am still fat. I am commited to completing my 12 week challenge and am sure I'll need a couple more after that, but going to the gym everyday has become a habit and I am enjoying it. The eating isn't bad either. Hell, I find myself getting chicken and a potato on my free day meals! g'night, Angie in IA Re: Re: age Angie, I am the total opposite when it comes to the scale.
