Guest guest
Dawn, You are right, it starts with you/all of us singly or together or in small groups to first step outside of ourselves and our own 'comfortable world' and say " I have CMT syndrome " and go on from there. Many of us are/have been involved in this already. Are you willing to " Stand UP 4 CMT " is the question? What magazine editors will you contact about September's CMT Awareness Month? What newspapers? Would you appear on your local TV news telling parts of your story? Would you ask your TV stations to run a Public Service Announcement during the month? Would you tell all your Facebook friends about CMT? Would you speak to Rotarians or Elks or other community groups about CMT? Would you plan a special event of some sort, a dinner, winetasting, fashion show, bake sale, or car wash, etc? Would you be willing to help create an on-line auction? The list is ripe with possibilities. Sure we all have CMT and do what we can despite challenges or no challenges. Are you willing to enlist the help of your non-CMT friends? And their friends? It is our responsibility. Our lovely Kay enlisted the help of one of her town's prime restaurants to help with CMT Awareness Week last year and it was very successful. It's up to each one of us - how to step out and Stand UP 4 CMT!!!!! Gretchen
Guest guest
I'll tell you what; I'm glad I have my son and his education to focus on; keeping him getting A's because that's something I KNOW I CAN accomplish! I studied education at the Master's level and if it weren't for me feet, I would be a teacher. I used to be a tutor. Now my son is my student. Who knows, Gretchen, maybe someday I can " teach " people about CMT or effective treatments if we get some! Today though, I just don't have it in me to beg people to listen. I thank God for my family! Love and peace, Dawn > > Dawn, > > You are right, it starts with you/all of us singly or together or in small groups to first step outside of ourselves and our own 'comfortable world' and say " I have CMT syndrome " and go on from there.
