Guest guest
Hi Kay, Hmmm, good question. I would think Dave, the Executive Director or Kim McGee the bookeeper could get one to you. dave@... and kim@... As for knowing where exactly your donations go - to any non-profit, it's always good to follow up to make sure your contribution is used how you intended it. Organizations must be fully accountable to their donors. It is also a good idea to note on your check exactly WHERE you want your donation to go - like for research, for operations, for special projects (and name that project) for memorials, to honor persons, to endowments, etc. You should get a letter in return for a donation stating your gift will be used as you wish and once your donation is used, a follow-up letter to you on the project, etc. All the orgs. I have worked with always sent our nicely printed Annual Report out to all the members, showing a pie chart of expenditures along with a written summary of all the news of the year and what's coming in the future. I remember working on many to show fiscal responsibility and keep donors informed and interested enough to give again. Good question " how do we know what the $ is really used for " ? Well, I guess if it is written in black and white, published and sent we know. Non-Profit Organizations have to have some kind of accountability to donors. Then there is always the case of mis-management of funds in non-profits, and all, but that's another story. Gretchen
