Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I am so sorry for your loss. Kathy at one point there was an article that said they do interfere but I cannot say where it is or if it was true. I also took antidepressants and was in remission for a long time. I think a lot of us here take them. after all just having our diseases causes depression. In my own opinion if you need them take them. As for the naltrexone you may want to ask a pharmacist. I am wondering if theres any conflict with those meds and armour thyroid, minocyline, low dose naltrexone, or any vitamins and supplements I take for thyroid and RA . Guest guest
Hi all, Perhaps some do benefit from ADs and other medications but let me tell you a story: I was dx with HCV (and later AIH) in 2002. My doctor put me on Xanax and after completing 88 weeks of HCV chemotherapy and relapsing I was also left with a bigger hell: tapering off of the BZ - which was worse by far than the chemo. Buyer beware.
Guest guest
Everyone's situation and needs are different. I've known of people who benefited greatly, and those who didn't. I've not tried it myself, so I can't speak from experience. Guest guest
My daughter is still in the hospital. They currently have her on 30mg of Cymbalta and 100 mg of Trazodone. She is still having suicidal thoughts and just cried in my arms today during our visit. How long should I wait to see if this is from the side effects or the depression itself. Later tonight I called and she was laughing with friends and felt better. We also just changed the Cymbalta dose from evening to morning because she could not sleep. I'm wondering if that disrupted her mood. I'm so scared to bring her home when she is still having these thoughts. Barb
Guest guest
I have to add comments b/c of my own experience quitting benzodiazepines, which are different medss but very severe withdrawal associated with it. docs really barely know anything about withdrawal syndromes. You can get a great deal of support and advice from multiple withdrawal sites who will safely help you through the process slowly, and help you deal with the withdrawal symptoms you will likely have. Trust me when i say this is your best bet as the docs do not truly know and can make you feel worse with their negative unsupportive attitudes. Your w/d can last 6-12 months and you will need support to understand what you're going through with your body and mind symptoms (sx) You can also get support and direction from benzo w/d sites for getting off of antidepressants. just google and join a couple of sites. Tina > > Is there a protocol on Bee's plan for getting off antidepressants? I have not found any articles on this topic. I have been on them for about 15 yrs. I am hoping to be able to get off and stay off them for the rest of my life. > > +++Hi Margaret, > > You need to get medical advice for slowly getting off of antidepressants. > > Bee >
