hate is no matter how old i am many people call me " kid " , boy do i hate

that, its like how old do i have to be before they call me by my name as an

equal, ive lived more of " life " than many of them ever have. shawna.

LOL a!

I HATED turning 30!!!! Since I was a kid I had ideas in my mind what life

would be like when I turned 30. Dreams I thought I would have fulfilled.

The majority weren't and I was really disillusioned when that birthday came

and went. No other birthday since has bothered me though. They called me

kid then too. LOL Was even proofed a few times! LOL That was back in the

days of belly dancing, undyed hair and no fat on my body! LOL

want to have a big bash with a bunch of kids cause she can't keep up with any

would, but when it really happened.... How dare they,

lol! Well, happy belated birthday!

I like " at home " parties for birthdays - so haven't tried parties at places like

" Chuck E Cheese's " and other places - but something like that might work. A new

movie theater in the area has a special room for children's birthday parties -

where they have typical party food and show a movie which could work. Maybe

having pick one or two good friends for a quiet party or a special outing

where keeping up wouldn't be an issue. Sorry I can't be of more help.

As most of you know..I prefer to read than to write to this

list...but this time, in regards to the missing of the

birthday...I think I have the 'cure' to the problem. I am coming

in on this in the middle or the end because i probably deleted

without opening when it 'first' appeared. I get the impression

that it was your birthday,Connie and your family or friends

didn't acknowledge it? is that what this is all about? if so..I

have the perfect 'prescription' shall I call it for this...and I

learned it from a young woman who has been separted from her

husband since I would say the moment they got married..which is

not a joke..but it is fact. In any case, this is what " I " do. I

use to cry and yell and be devasted that people ..immediate

family did not 'remember' my birthday when " I " have always not

only remembered..but have made 'big occasions' of anyone and

everyone's special day. I finally learned..Damn..why should " I "

make myself miserable over all this..so what " I " do is either

before...a few days before..I will call two of my kids and

say...such and such a date is coming up and IT IS MY BIRTHDAY

WHAT DO YOU INTEND TO DO ABOUT IT..WHERE DO YOU WANT TO MEET TO

GO OUT TO EAT LUNCH ON SUNDAY.And to the third kid who lives out

of state..i call him and tell him..look, my birthday is coming

up and it is important to me that you call me on Sunday...and I

give him the morning..if he doesn't ..I call him. When I turned

60 which to me was a special year...I sat on the phone and

called all those that were close to me..and also even sent out e

mails to people I only know from the internet..and let them all

know that this was a special time in my life..because I felt

close to them .. " I " wanted to share this happy moment with

'them'.All these methods can be varied and changed about..but no

way should anyone make themselves miserable because 'others'

'forget' or just don't place any 'importance' upon what 'we' may

feel they should have 'acknowledged'. I will even buy for myself

'flowers'..to brighten up my own life/day..and/or invite others

to come over for dinner or to have ice cream cake or

whatever.Point being: Especially after what has taken place on

Sept11...we just all have to be thankful for what we do have..I

have learned..people are people..and that is that..none of us

are 'angels'..those you find in Heaven..and Connie..if it was

your birthday...and I 'missed' it..Happy Birthday, dear...and

best of wishes to you...but next time..TELL ME...so i can share

with you this 'special' day of yours.

Tree, we are going to Disney on Ice saturday. I hope she will enjoy it. I

want to take her to the Nutcracker come Christmas. My mom used to take my

sister and me, then my sister didn't like it, so me and my mom went many

years in a row. I loved it. So I am going to start saving now so I can take

her. Thanks, Pat

Rusty, sorry you never had a bday party. Sometimes they are fun, sometimes a

big pain you know where!!! We're keeping it pretty low key this year. Just

family, but then you know how family can be!!!

we went to a party at a do it yourself ceremics store they had several

pieces that the kids could choose from to paint then the store fired them

them and were delivered to the kids after they were done.

the parents took pictures of each kid and there painted piece so they

could remember who made what.
