Guest guest
Load up on Vitamin C from now until then. 10 grams a day or more to bowel tolerance. The body doens't make Vitamin C but needs it bad, especially during times of stress. Vit C keeps the arteries and blood vessels strong so that they don't rupture and will heal quickly. phine > > I am having a c section the 5th. Guest guest
Shalom, Take vco with 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and you'd be surprised how quickly it kicks out cold and cough. Were you/are you in a lot of pain? Did you have to give blood or anything for this one? Just wondering. Answer when you can - I know you are recuperating. Guest guest
Dear Carol, Glad you are on the other side, and hopefully as healing takes place, away goes your pain! You are such a trouper! I now wish I'd kept the hardware from my first revision which was removed during my second, have my Harrington Rod though, but it sure would have been cool to have that revision hardware in hind sight. Glad you are" unscrewed", and wish for you fast healing, and I send my support! Colorado Springs [ ] Surgery I am having trouble with my computer, so that's why I haven't written yet.Any way, Dr. Hu said the surgery went very well. She didn't give me my screws, but I'm wondering if it was because my husband didn't want to see them. He saw 's screws, and that was enough.Well, go ahead and write them down...don't really plan on replying. Thanks for thinking of me. I'm doing OK--still have major "butt" pain, but I hear it is temporary.Carol V.
Guest guest
Dear Carol, I was wondering if Dr Hu addressed with you how long it would take bone to grow back in the holes in the bone left after removing your large illiac screws. I'm wondering if that contributes to the pain? While Kumar never addressed the idea with me that they might need to be removed in the future, Dr. O'brien did,( and mind you this was when I had my second revision five years ago, not recently) and he threw out some figure like half eventually would have to have their bolts removed if they became painful. Mine while now sore (especially the right one), have vastly improved over the last five days, so I'm beginning to see the light that maybe this is a glitch, and not permanent. Do you feel that you did something that irritated yours or was it constant pain from the get go? This is my fourth round of soreness with the bolts, the first three not being anywhere as bad as this one, last times it took about 10 days for them to come around, this time after the painful hardware from the flu, it seemed to settle in my hips( illiac bolts). Yesterday was the first day in a month where I didn't need tylenol to get through the day. When it first happened it was down right painful, getting up and down was murder, and sleeping in bed totally uncomfortable. Now it's just sore, big difference. Sorry to pick your brain, but nice to have you and who have gone through this for advice. I'll see Kumar in April, I'm going up for one of his patients I've spoken to surgery, so I'll run this by him. It would be for me a last resort to have them out( copays for a hospitization are very high for us now), but I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to avoid irritating them, this time truly I don't know what I did. I soooooo hoping your pain resolves soon, you deserve it! [ ] Surgery No, I was only in the hospital overnight for this surgery. I'm hoping that it will take care of my "butt" pain. It hurts more than it did before, right now-- but I've been told it should get better. Any way, I'm hoping that it will!! No, no blood donation, because there was no need for blood. I wish they would have given me some last time, because I was short a little, even though they did the "saver" thing for it. I'm glad Dr. Hu doesn't make people give some blood, because a person is usually short some any way. Thank you for the thoughts....Carol V. Guest guest
--I asked her this question prior to surgery, and she said that it never fills in. I was concerned because I have osteoporosis in my family, and wanted to know. I guess the answer is " never " ! She said she has never heard of any patient having a problem with it. She said of course, there's always a first time! I just wanted to know everything I could think of. Right now I'm fighting nausea most of the time. I'm hoping it gets better real soon! Guest guest
Have you had a liver panel done lately? Problems with the liver can cause unexplained, intermittent fevers. If you have taken MTX in the past, or lots of NSAIDs (especially Tylenol) and have not had blood work to check your liver function in the last few months, I would definitely ask for that to be checked. At any rate, they should be rigorously checking everything to see whether you have some infection somewhere causing this. " S. Guest guest
Hi Connie, Why does he think you son needs surgery? It is usually required because the plates of the skull have fused too early, and are restricting the brain growth. A lot of neuros aren't worried about head shape, and won't necessarily recommend banding. If the plates are fused surgery may be required, but if that isn't the case I would recommend a 2nd opinion. -christine sydney 2.5 yrs starband grad > > well i am hoping someone will have some advice. i took my son cadyn > who is 9 and a half months to see a neurosur. doctor and he said that > my son does not need a helmet but he might need surgery because of the > growth of his head. i am wondering if anyone has had to deal with > this. i am scared and i will find out tomorrow if he is going to need > it. so if anyone had any advice please let me know thank you > connie >
