RE: Pressure Vessel Design & Testing

Hi

In simple language we can say that -

A vessel is designed by considering some

load which is always on higher side to prevent any undesired event. The design

pressure is more then the test pressure (depends on the location/ chemical/ consequence

in case of any undesired event)

..

Working pressure is the pressure which is

recommended for the normal operation.

Test pressure is normally 1.5 times of

working pressure.

SRV set pressure – safety relief

valve pressure is the one at which the safety valve activates for the safe

relief of undesired high pressure.

Pressure Vessle Design & Testing

Dear All,

I like to get your comments regarding the relation

between designed pressure, working pressure, test

pressure, SRV set pressure & RD set pressure of any

pressure vessel.

Your valuable inputs will be highly solicited.
