The photograph is attached Photograph details : o " A " stands for the first quarter i.e. January to March . o " 07 " stands for the present year 2007. We all were still confused with the terms used above. o A-07 indicates the expiry life of cylinder and not the GAS filled in it. o This cylinder should not be used and returned to the gas dealer. Expired Cylinders are not safe for use and may cause accidents. All concerned should take necessary steps. Other Valuable Information : o Have u ever heard about LPG gas cylinder's expire date. I also didn't know. o How to find LPG cylinder's expiry date? o Very important information. Most of us do not know this. I came to know today from the gas stockiest, because here one accident occurred. Do you know that there is an expiry date (physical life) for LPGcylinders? Expired Cylinders are not safe for use and may cause accidents. In this regard please be cautious at the time of accepting any LPG cylinder from the vendor. Here is how we can check the expiry of LPG cylinders: On one of three side stems of the cylinder, the expiry date is coded alphanumerically as follows A or B or C or D and some two digit number followingthis e.g. D06. The alphabets stand for quarters - -- A for March (First Qtr) -- B for June (Second Qtr) -- C for Sept (Third Qtr) -- D for December (Fourth Qtr) The digits stand for the year till it is valid. Hence D06 would mean December qtr of 2006. Share this message with everyone you know, UR kind cooperation will save life of many people and create awareness among the public. Please do not accept the cylinder if the date has already expired. Guest guest
Dear All, A-07 stands for the quarter and year of the hydrotesting, testing painting, Pneumatic test, etc, due for the LPG Cylinders. In the below mentioned cylinder, " A-07 " depicts the quarter and year, after which the above tests are due. That means these cylinders on receipt at the LPG Bottling Plant after " A-07 " , i.e. on or after 1st April'07 shall be sent for testing and re-painting. There are two types of cylinders:- 1. New cylinders 2. Already tested painted cylinders New cylinders are to be first tested painted after 10 years. Already tested painted cylinders are sent for re-testing and all at a frequency of 5 years. Earlier for the new cylinders, first testing painting norms were of 7 years, that has been modified to 10 years since the year 2007. Hence the cylinder shown below is a new one then its next due date for testing painting is " A-10 " . If a cylinder is re-tested painted then the party's (authorized by CCOE) code, year and quarter of testing painting done is being punched on one of the three stay plates (one stay plate shown in the figure below). So, this is not an expiry date, but a statutory testing and re-painting indication for that particular cylinder; and the cylinder is fit for re-circulation in the market or not is then derived based on the testing party's recommendation.
