Guest guest
Hi again(what's your first name, anyway?!) Actually I live in Washington state so it's tough but I've been researching for a while now and decided I wanted to go to one of the best to have my explant. Dr. Kolb was my first choice, but out of my range so I went with Dr. Huang who is supposed to be excellent as well. We pretty much had to book everything this way so I wouldn't have to go out there twice. I think that's great that you can help people with anxiety...God knows there's a lot of it on here! I was in your same position thinking that I couldn't afford this, but here I am now doing it. I had to borrow a little bit of it but it's okay...it's now a reality. So, don't worry it will all come together for you. So you live in Colorado? How far from Denver are you? I will be there from March 11-19th. Maybe we could get together before or after my surgery. Well, I'm off to take my lavender epson salt bath. I'll check back in a bit! spinkscl <spinkscl@...> wrote: Thank you ,I know what you mean about feeling like you are getting lots of info from others and giving little. I am also on a anxiety support board. I was recently diagnosed with anxiety/depression soon after my ANA profile came back high. I was getting no where with the doctors. They were running so many tests but finding nothing but an increase in my ANA. They had me on high doses of anti-inflammatories but my joint pain doesn't subside.Anyhow, regarding the other board I am on, at first when I was a newbie I felt like I asked way too much. But I received so much wonderful advice and support and now when new people post who are having panic attacks or major anxiety, I can offer up some support or advice. Makes me feel good. You must be in Colorado too. I was disappointed that there aren't many doctors here who understand why "we" need explants. From what I have read though, Dr. Huang seems to be exceptional in her field. You were smart to book the appointments back to back. I would like to as well but I need to get my husband's support first. He has no idea how we are going to come up with the money? I myself will do anything - sell one of our cars, refinance the house, take out a credit card... > > > > > > >Jen,> > > >> > > >The best description I've heard of tram flap surgeries are the > > > >"surgeries from Hell" . ..> > > >> > > >You sacrifice either a muscle from your stomach or your back to > > > >build a muscle. Guest guest
-, Thank god the truth has helped someone out there make a decsion that could ruin your life, I am so thankful to you for sharing. It makes me cry for joy that what I have been through and continue to go through has made a differenc for someone else. As you might have read, After explant I had to have a second surgery 1year later on 1 breast, the left side which left me lopsided, but you know what? I was so happy to have a chance to get my health and life back for myself and my two children that my boobs became less and less important to me, I don't relly care what they look like now, I have some battle wounds to show for my life but I am alive. Before explant I had so many neurological problems I couldn't remember what I was doing moment to moment where I was going, and who I was working with. I was dizzy all the time and had vertigo. Now I have my memory back and I am pissed. I have the fight in me girlfriend and that is what I intend to do for the ladies here and anybody out there who I can personally help to make the right choice not to poision their body with known neuro toxins. I am so happy for you that you will be spared. I don't know about bras because I mostly wear sports bras now and don't care what they look like just that I am clean and alive. Please take care of yourself you made the right decision. Guest guest
Raquel, Thanks for letting us know that you're NOT going to get implants. . .I have no doubt it's one of the best decisions you've ever made. Suggestion . . . Could send your photos to one of our recommended surgeons to see if they could do a lift/reduction to make you more symetrical? . . . Most of us could have avoided this mess if we had simply had a mastopexy instead of getting implants. I haven't bought any, but I undersand 's secret has some outstanding bras. If you have a really big difference, you may want to check out the bras and prostheses the cancer survivors wear . . . A web search should take to you a number of good sources. Guest guest
Raquel: I'm so happy you decided not to get implants. Be happy with how you are. Getting implants was the worst decision I ever made (3 years of illness, 8 surgeries, and $15,000+ in debt). I knew women could get sick from them but I never thought it would happen to me. Since being explanted, I'm really flat, so I deal with the same dilemma as you as far as how to look normal in clothes. I wear a 34C because of my width, not because I fill it out. My favorite bra is the Hollywood Extreme Cleavage by Fredericks of Hollywood, which has removable pads, which I replaced with water pads (Walmart). It make me look almost like I did with the implants in clothes, minus the cleavage. Swimsuits are tricky for me, especially one piece ones because I'm long in the torso and they really flatten me out--I look better in a two piece which I pad with silicone inserts. I just read about new triangular ones for bikinis in Instyle magazine, which I'm thinking of trying. Re. not being symmetrical, maybe you could try different size bra inserts to even you out? Guest guest
Raquel, You are such a smart woman! I wish I had researched! I haven't had my explant yet but I plan to ASAP. At this point, I don't care how small they become. I just want to be healthy. Mine are very nice, clothes fit great - but I feel horrible. My health is so bad. I don't feel like dressing up and showing them off. I don't feel like going swimming anymore. I regret my decision to the fullest. I am sorry I can't offer more about symmetry issues? I am sure there are others here who can. Take care! > > To My Dearest Courageous Women, > > I felt compelled to write you today to let you know that you have made SUCH a difference > in my life...saved my life, perhaps. > > I have been planning, researching, and studying breast augmentation for the past 3 years. > I had my size picked out, consulted with numerous plastic surgeons, dreamed of the > beautiful dresses and bikinis I would wear, and began a savings plan. Guest guest
Raquel, Thank you so much for your note. This is what makes all my suffering worth while. I hope I can make God's promise come to life....."He makes all things good for those who are in Christ Jesus." I so remember the nightmare disguised as bra shopping prior to implants. I always left the store empty handed and in tears. Which wasone of the reasons why I got the implants to begin with. With the implants I was a perfect 36C, I could walk in the store, pick out a pretty bra and walk out without trying it on. I knew it would fit. I had 'cookie cutter boobs." The thought of bra shopping scared me to death after explant, I feared I would have the same experiences that I had before. However, the difference was I was alive, after being so sick for so long, I was happy to go get a new bra. I was hesitant, but after everything I went through I knew I had to face my fear head-on. So, I walked right into a 's Secret and told the first girl I saw with a measuring tape my whole story. I told her I needed to be fitted properly. She measured me (36A) and gave me a box that contained every bra they carried in my size. I tried on everyone. I did get frustrated, till I found the only one that fit and looked good. I bought the Secret Embrace. After wearing it everyday for a few months it stretched out and couldn't be adjusted anymore. The material that it is made of is odd and you cant alter it. So, I went in and bought one size smaller (34B) and it fits great, and I still have two more hooks for when it stretches. During the summer, I go with a lined tank. I am so happy to be natural and healthy, that I don't care what my boobs look like anymore. When it is all said and done, I want to be known for my character, not my boobs. Plus, I realized, I don't really spend a whole lot of memory cells on someone elses boobs, so others must not focus to much on mine either. Happy Shopping!!! Guest guest
Raquel, Thank you so much for writing. I am so glad to hear that you have decided not to get implants - I am sure that you have just made everyone's day here, I know you have made mine. Nothing is more important than your health - once you lose it, you realize how precious it is. In 6 months time, I spent more than $14,000 on implants - first having them put in, then having them removed. That doesn't include all the medical tests that I had to have done while I had them, or the psychologist visits, or the doctor visits. I could have gone on quite an elaborate vacation for $14,000 + dollars, and you know what's incredible? I would never spend that kind of money on a vacation but I ended up paying that for two plastic bags that took away my peace of mind and actually destroyed my confidence rather than giving me any. I hope that you do something really special for yourself, because you are one very wise woman, who chose to REALLY do your research rather than listen to the manufacturers and the plastic surgeons. Once I got implants, I realized how insignificant larger breasts were. I no longer cared about filling a bikini top or a little strapless dress, because all I wanted to do was hide my fake breasts. I hated myself for getting implants - I was so ashamed of myself while I had implants. I felt like a freak. Once I had my explant, I felt like myself again. When I had the implants, I could no longer wear the type of clothes that I liked to wear, and I had to change my style completely. I liked my style before implants and suddenly I had to choose different clothes than before and I was so unhappy. I always wore small to medium tops, and suddenly I was wearing large. Now that the implants are gone, I feel really good when I look in the mirror because what I see is MY body. Sure I buy a bra with some padding, but I like how that looks so much better than how the implants looked. Having larger breasts changed my whole perspective on what looked good on a woman, and I found that I was looking at the small breasted women and thinking how beautiful they looked and how much I missed my natural shape. One other thing, I went from an A/B to a C with implants, and then back to an A/B after implants - and do you know that no one ever noticed? Why did I fret about having a small chest when no one even noticed when I had a larger one? The bra that I wear now and like the best is from the Gap. It's called a Wireless Push Up. I don't have much to push up, but it really fits nice and it's very natural looking. I wear an " A " in this bra, even though I found that a " B " seemed to fit as well - I just felt the A fit best. Thank you again for sharing this with us. Guest guest
, I love it! "Plus, I realized, I don't really spend a whole lot of memory cells on someone elses boobs, so others must not focus to much on mine either." So true! Guest guest
Raquel, Here is a website that has some great swimsuits with enhancer tops. http://www.venus.com/swim/default.aspx?storeid=0 Of course, most of these models have implants, and it is almost too obvious on some of them. They just don't look natural. I hate to promote this, but they do have lots of options for styles with enhancer bra tops. The tankini's as well. Just a reminder also...I ordered from this company once, and had to re-order as their sizes ran on the small side. I ended up just returning the second one too, and looking elsewhere, but I did like the swimsuit alot! Guest guest
Heidi, women who give birth to 10-lb babies have gestational diabetes, and usually go on later in life to develop diabetes. Have you been checked for that? Sue On Friday, August 8, 2008, at 02:32 PM, Heidi wrote: > Thanks for the responces. Im just really frustrated about the weight > Ive gained. Guest guest
Hi Sue, Yes, I was checked for that at 6 months. DH was almost 10 lbs so was his brother. Both of his sisters were close to 9 lbs. We assumed that big babies run in his family and thats why DS was so big. Your bringing up diabeties makes me curious though, because I have been craving water and have been getting so many bad headaches lately. Along with the fact Im having trouble loosing weight....but this isnt a diabeties forum so I wont talk about that here : ) Thanks for the input, Heidi > > > Thanks for the responces. Guest guest
Hi Heidi, Excessive thirst is a sign of diabetes, but headaches can be caused by many things. Prednisone has been known to give people diabetes; I don't know if you've been on that longterm or not. If you have any questions about other symptoms, please email me at this address: marysue@... Guest guest
Vicki, I hope you have a good night, and feel better in the morning. It sounds like you might, glad you have your meds, Tawny > > I want to thank all of you for the warm welcomes and understanding. I can already tell I have come to the right place. This has been one of those rough days. End month so had to work from 3 am to 5 pm getting all of the paper work in plus running my shift. Hurting all over tonite so think I am going to take oxycontin and ambien and head up to bed. I wish you all the best. > Vicki > Iowa > >

Guest guest
Cheryl, I understand exactly where you are coming from. When I joined I didn't know anyone to ask questions about this frightening turn of events in my life. Now I come here and get all of the support that I need. I get to whine or vent. It's great for my mental stability. (Thanks, Group.) I am so happy that it is helping you also.
