Guest guest
I have also went with herbs the natural way. I got sick from some of that too. My Ins wont pay for Herbs so that was a hardship and I ended up in the hospital with Congestive Heart failure. As far a the pharmaceutical companies, I don't trust them either.it is hard to know what to do, the doctors are at a loss too. I dont know why but the herbs and meds do just the opposite of what they are supposed to do. Geri
Guest guest
Geri and group, So sorry to hear you're having so much trouble finding what works for you Geri. I used to take a bunch of stuff because I thought it would help me. And it did at first. I think because I was so defieceint in a lot of nutrients. What I didn't realise was that all the fillers were building up in my system. So I got off of everything and did the trial and error thing with my diet while doing more research. I discovered I had a lot of food and so called medicine allergies. Notice how I say, so called medicine. After I got my diet straightened out and my immune system back I added vitamins and herbs back in. Back in 2000 my doctor at the time put me on Vioox for arthritis. It worked great but then after a month it wasn't working as well so he doubled the dosage. After a couple days of that I fainted. So he told me to take ibreprofrin. Plus I was taking an asprin a day because he said it prevents heart disease. Well, about three years later I started getting all these big welts on my bodylike my face, back?and odd places. My life was busy and I waited 3 more years before seeing a doctor about it. The doctor I had then called it cystic acne and wanted me to be on low dose antibiotics. I told him no thanks because I know how dangerous that is. Shortly after, I injured my whole right leg from my foot and ankle all the way up, pulling every muscle, ligament and tendon right before I had to go on a trip so I took more ibreprofin non stop so I could deal with the pain and enjoy myself and get around better. The whole trip I was coughing like crazy and breaking out more. So when I got back home I started doing research and decided I was alergic to asprin and anything asprin related. I also learned that asprin actually causes heart failure. Once I stopped taking any and all asprin related stuff the coughing stopped but the welts weren't healing fast enough. So I did more research and discovered I needed zinc as well as other minerals and good meat (not factory meat) and raw fruits and veggies.I experimented by going back and forth with the good and bad meat and every time I ate the bad meat I'd break out more. And every time I ate starchy foods I'd feel like all my energy was being drained out of me. So here I am getting organic fresh spinach, carrots and salid mixes and broccoli as well as organic meats and eggs. I replaced bread with oats, brown rice, flax seeds and grains that are glutin free. Brown rice is limited to a couple times a week and oatmeal once a day with my fresh ground flax seeds. The other grains I use in my chili, meat loaf and whatever else I can put it in. And I never cook my meat very long, just long enough to brown it. And my daughter chows down, she loves it. I also eat 2 to 4 eggs a day, with the yolk and my cholesterol is 135. And even though I'm not as physically strong as I used to be I feel so much better and better as time goes on. There are so many companies out there and you have to be careful and read all the ingredients and make sure it's pure with no fillers. Some of the fillers block nutrients and they are gmo's.I only buy a product that is pure. If it is in gelitin I take it out. Tastes yucky but hey, do I want to be my healthiest? I say yes and grin and bare it. I know it is hard to afford vitamins and herbs. It is hard for me being on a very limited income. But I don't have cable tv and my cell phone is pre-paid so I'm not obligated and my internet is only $8.95 a month. I believe medicine has it's place but it's gotten so out of hand and there's more bad guys than good and I " ve learned to be my own doctor. Don't get me wrong, I love the doctor I have now but he still practices medicine and is still somewhat under the pharmacuetil companies. BTW, they are messing with our alfalpha; the stuff they feed our organically raised cows, okaying it to be gmo. I hope more people will get involved and try to help reverse this before they actually start it. I sent my signiture? to congress. I will die fighting for our freedom to choose healthy food over food that kills.
Guest guest
Joann, ?I never said herbs can get rid of an infection. I also said I believe medicine has it's place, but it's gotten out of hand. Although, the use of some herbs like garlic has antibiotic and antifungual properties, as well as being a blood thinner, among other things. I know I've had infections and got rid of them with healthy foods, herbs and vitamin and mineral supplements. I was simply trying to get the message across that people can be well and have a better quality of life if they go natural and find out what works for them. Was simply trying to help Geri. She had mentioned heart problems as well, which is why I mentioned to her about her homocysteine level. Homocystein builds up in your blood if you don't get enough b-12 and folate and causes heart failure. It takes B-6 to absorb the other two nutrients. Synthetic vitamins might help at first but then your body won't use them after a while because it needs real nutrients. ?Also, you can have normal B-12 levels and still be low on B-12. It's called B-12 functional defieceincey. If youe homocysteine level is high you are not getting enough B-12 to kick out your system and it causes heart problems among other things. Doctors don't usually order the test. You have to ask. There has to a reason like you're tired all the time, high blood pressure to name a couple. This is just my experience. Guest guest
, I agree the volumn of medication prescribed has gotten out of hand. I also believe the same could be said about " going natural " . I just suggested a probiotic because that is what has worked for me. What kind of infection did you have that you were about to get rid of with healthy foods, suppliments, etc.? Joann > > >

Guest guest
One reason why we are tied all the time is because of CMT! It takes us allot more energy to do things compared to other people that aren't putting up with a muscle problem. Geri
Guest guest
Joann, Who knows all that was wrong. My experience with doctors hasn't been very good since I am on Medicaid. It took me years to get the dr I have now. He's the best one around as far as I'm concerned. But still I have to do my own research and tell him what I need or want. He's never disagreed with me, which is good. And he actually listened to me when I told him I wanted my Labs sent to Lab Corp instead of Quest. I'm sure I had staph, as I had ugly boils on my face and other places, as well as welts. Probably UTI problems as well. No more though, since I've changed everything. My complexion is healthy now and I haven't broke out with the welts for three years now. Any kind of inflammation in the body is infection. Swollon ankles, allergies and asthma, broncitis, clogged or swallon blood vessels. They are all a form of infection and the right nutrients do in fact help heal the body. I probably get too carried away with research and nutrition but I did what I did and it only makes sense to try to help people.
