Guest guest
Jerry, Tay Sachs is a autosomal recessive genetic disorder. It it often mistaken in diagnosis as Frederick's Ataxia, which can mimick CMT. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tay–Sachs_disease. Most of all CMT (70-80 %)is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder, often being misdiagnosed as MS,MD and Frederick's Ataxia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charcot%E2%80%93Marie%E2%80%93Tooth_disease. If you have known Tay Sachs and CMT in your family, you may want to get the DNA tests for each. I suggest you contact the leadership of the two organizations directly. As we know, of course it is possible to have another disorder, disease or syndrome in addition to CMT. Gretchen >
