Guest guest
Hi Yanosz: Silly is great - how funny! I have several wonder woofers of my own here, from the big (110 pounds) to the small (6 pounds) they are a great comfort to me! The two smallest are pups who actually belong to my kids, but they sleep with my husband and I because my daughter's pug snores (she is a very light sleeper) and my son's chihuahua wants to be with the pug! If you have never had a pug, you must check them out - the little faces are so human like, their expressions so comical, they really looks as if they are understanding everything you are saying with every tilt of their head, and the little snores and snorts are enchanting. They really light up my day, and comfort my nights by sleeping right next to my aching legs. Go wonder woofers! Guest guest
Yanosz, Dewey's message really made me smile! thanks so much. I agree with Kathe: Silly is great! I have 2 incredible wonder woofers. They are Tibetan Terriers, and I love love love them. My older one--Moxie--just turned 15, and he's very ill, getting ready to move on to another plane of existence. He's been my incredible, loyal companion for 12 years. He's my precious boy, and seeing him so uncomfortable is sad, to say the least. My younger one--Gracie--is quite full of herself, very humorous and is a great comfort to me as Moxie goes through this difficult time. I don't know how I could cope with RA without dogs nearby! And, Kathe, I think pugs are so darling! Guest guest
Hi, Well, I don't know of a kitty curly tail club, but Dewey says if your cat has a curly tail or can curl her tail sometimes, then she can join the doggie curly tail club. And, they won't even eat her. They're a nonaggressive lot. They strive for conservation of all the curly tailed species. <vbg> Your little pugs sound soooo cute. They have curly tails too, don't they? I want to open a rescue for curly tailed dogs. I'm almost totally blind so colors don't mean anything to me... I love curly tails! Call me strange if you want. Guest guest
Yanosz, Just curious, what caused you to be nearly blind, if you don't mind answering? I ask because I have a genetic eye disease, Fuchs' corneal dystrophy, but if it gets bad it can be fixed with a cornea transplant. Guest guest
Yanosz Yes pugs have tails that are curled all the time, the are straight when the dog is unhappy, this rarely happens with pugs. They are both very happy little guys. The younger pug has a nickname PITA ( pain in the ass) but then he is a puppy. We also have a terrier mix called Reggie, but he has no tail only a nub, someone cropped it, all three of our dogs are rescue animals. Although we love Reggie dearly, we say we will never have another terrier, He is very paranoid, won't walk on wood floor, so basically stays in the room of the house that has carpet, good thing that is the common room, or family room. It always amazes me how loving and friendly these three dogs are, we know for sure the terrier and the older pug were mistreated, Pug has had mouth surgery because of it and, terrier is only 4 and has eye trouble from being made to live outside. Besides my calico cat we a;so have a bi )25 pounds) white cat with blue eyes, so as you can see we are at our limit of animals in this house. All animals get along most of the time, each animal seems to have his or her special person, but everyone gets mad at the pug frank when he is being a Pita. in WI PS can You make an exception and let Reggie join the club too? He does not like to be left out of things. Guest guest
Awwww. I had a friend that had a pug several years ago. That little dog peed on me twice. Not a good ambassador for the breed. <VBG> What breed is your big wonder woofer? Dewey's dying to know... Ok, I'm dying to know... I'll let you all in on a secret. I'm writing some stories about a guy who finds this stray Anatolian and names it Dewey. He discovers he can talk to Dewey and when things in the town start going wrong and people start getting hurt, he feels compelled to get involved. Well, he's kind of absent-minded and not really good as a detective, so the dog tells him what to ask and what to do... Silly, I know, but we all need a little light relief and writing is good for me. Y and my Wonderous Wonder Woofer! Re: [ ] Yanosz wonder woofers > Hi Yanosz: > > Silly is great - how funny! Guest guest
Hi Yanosz: I think our book sounds great - just the kind I would read lol. Animals and mystery - what a mix. My big woofer, and I mean big, is a German Sheperherd who is a bit on the puggy side, okay, she's fat, but I love her. Her name is Shadzee (Persian for " happy life " - the only dog my husband has named - the others were all named after indian tribes). She was a pound puppy, and by the time we went back to get her, on her last day before the big sleep, the dog in the next cage had chewed off the top of her right ear. I felt so horrible, because she is a beautiful shepherd. She is now 9 years old, and I have her on doggy joint meds, and a diet which she is hating. I had to put down my other even more wonderous woofer, my best friend, and my shadow of 17 years, a husky/shepherd mix, named Cheyenne just two weeks ago. Her back legs just finally gave up on her, and I spent the entire morning lying next to her in the hallway, stroking her and telling her how much I loved her and what a good dog she had been, and urging her into the light, but still had to take her that afternoon to be put down. It hit me so hard, I just sobbed and sobbed, and flared badly. I love shepherds - they are the best dog for me - and I will get another shadow someday, but right now we have four dogs and that is enough for my husband lol. We have two other dogs in the past four months, all around the same age, Dakotah was a rotweiller/shepherd at 120 pounds, who died at age 12 - just lay down in the back yard under the barn and went to sleep; then there was Lucky - named so because I found her at the kids school as a scrawny little puppy on a 110 degree day and she was just listless - actually, we turned out to the the lucky ones because she was a wonderful hunter mouser/ratter/squirrler for us - she was queensland heeler mix, and also died at 12 when she just lay down by the corrals outside and went to sleep in the sun. That's the way I want to go - just go to sleep and slip away. Now we only have Apache outside, she is a 7 year old Aussie shepherd/lab mix, who rules the backyard and watches over our other critters. Sometimes we force Shadzee outside to spend time with her, and Shadzee cries, and cries to get back in - she is so lazy. My daughter's pug is named Tru and my son's chihuahua is named Faith - so we have TruFaith in this house lol. They are such comedy, and love to play with my husband's cat, ny Boy, and keep us quite entertained. Hope I have not bored you with the woofers club we have here, but I just love them too much, and like to share with other dog and animal people like you. Hope that today is a good day for you. Guest guest
Dewey says he can join in too. We would hate to see him left out... That reminds me of a cartoon I saw once in a newsletter for a guide dog school. It was a restaurant and there was a sign that said NO DOGS ALLOWED EXCEPT SEEING EYE DOGS. In the restaurant, there were all these guide dogs in harnesses sitting at the tables. Outside was a little puppy looking so sad because he couldn't go inside. I don't know why I'm thinking of that now...
