Best wishes, Holly e <doggedame@...> wrote: Just wanted to say hello to everyone and am happy that I've joined what looks like a very active group. I'm on 100mg of Imuran per day and it seems to give me stomach pains. I was wondering if that has happened to anyone else and what you may do/take to help. The storms here in OK are really messing with my body today!!
Guest guest
Hello everyone! My name is . I live in PA and was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last week when I first vistied a Rheumaltologist. I was diagnosed with DLE Lupus last year at a Dermatologist after they did a biopsy of my facial rash. I am 30 years old with 4 children and alot of pain!(not from them lol) I also get headaches so bad to the point that I just stay in bed all day.. I am so tired all the time its so frustrating to me! I hate this!! I also have terrible sinus problems , which i think is a big part of my headaches. As well as anxiety issues and a weight issue. (not over terribly over weight but if i gain a pound i dont eat for days!) Now that I am done rambling here I will get to my question! (sorry)!! The Rheumy put me on Trazodone... he says its for depression, anxiety, pain and my sleep problems and was the least likey to have me gain weight. Has anyone here been on that? If so did it work?? I still get up every single morning with a headache ( and stuffy nose so its probably sinuses) and I am so tired!!! Any suggestions?? I go back to the Rheumy in a few weeks and have no clue what questions I am supposed to ask! Thanks so much for listening to me venting here.... I am looking forward to meeting you all! I'm usually a quiet person here. I also have fibro, sujgrens and possibilty of lupus. I did find that when I'm able to sleep i have less pain the next day. peace, Gayle

Guest guest
Hi : Welcome to the group! The people here are wonderful, caring and supportive, and are full of great advice and information. I know that you will enjoy being with us. I have RA and fibromyalgia, and take medications for each. Are you on medications for your Lupus? We all have the problem of fatigue and never getting enough sleep, so I know how you feel. I was on Trazodone for a while, and it did help some with my sleep, but I am now on Ambien CR plus a muscle relaxant at night which I find much more helpful. If the Trazodone does not help, there are other meds that your doctor can prescribe, and one is sure to be of help to you. Sinus problems seem to be quite common with us too, perhaps because of our immune systems not working normally. Have you gotten any antibiotic treatment yet? Sometimes we just need antibiotics to get a really bad sinus problem cleared up. Sorry to hear about your headaches being so bad - I am lucky and don't have too much problem that way. It's my body that hurts, not my head. As far as weight is concerned, try not to be so hard on yourself, just remember to eat right and to eat as healthily as you can. A pound up or down daily is no big deal, it is normal for our weight to fluctuate, just eat sensibly. You need all the nutrition you can get. I am sure that there will be other people here who can give you their advice on Trazodone as I have heard it mentioned here before. Between us all, I believe we have tried about every medication and treatment out there, so just ask away! Take care - Kathe __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Kathe! Thanks for the warm welcome! I have already received so much info in the last day its GREAT! It really does make me feel alot better knowing here are others (unfortunately) that are going thru the same thing as I am . I really don't know all that much about the Lupus,RA, or Fibro. All I know is I have been diagnosed with the DLE Lupus (skin) and Fibro. i don't know if or how to tell my kids what is going on with me. They do not understand that there are days I just do not feel well and cannot take them to the park or play football with them for hours..I feel soo bad about that. They do know that I am not to be in the sun and If I have to be, i need to wear alot of sunblock and a dumb hat, because If i don't they have seen what it does to my face and it 'ain't pretty! Not to mention it makes me feel so sick to be in the heat. I just wish , like I am sure you all do that I could be " normal " and do the things I want to with them and just had energy...just for 1 day! They are so young and my ex is a amputee so he cant run around with my boys either..all they have for that is my hubby who is recovering (in remission) form the Esophageal Cancer. My poor babies!!! That is what has me force myself to get up and out of bed! how do you explain this to a 5 and 6 year old?? The older ones understand a bit more but still, this just isn't fair to them! Anyway, All I planned on saying was thank you for the welcome and having this group for people to go to for support! I think its great!! :-) Kathe Sabetzadeh <lv2ryd@...> wrote: Hi : Welcome to the group! The people here are wonderful, caring and supportive, and are full of great advice and information. Guest guest
Hi , Welcome to the group. I have been away for quite some time. But hopefully I can get back into the swing of things. I have been so swamped at work. I know what you mean about the kids. But I think that they understand better than you might think. My daughter is 12 and she likes to try to help me do things. She is really great about it. I am so glad that your husband is in remission. That is great. You will be in my prayers. Guest guest
, I had to choose between Remicade, Embrel and Humira this past July. I choose Remicade because it was an infusion that only took 2 hours every 2 months as compared to the E and H being weekly self injects (I think they are even twice weekly but I'm not sure). I also leaned to Remicade because it's been around the longest and I felt has been investigated the hardest (just my opinion). In addition, I have this fear of a bad reaction (had a terrible reaction once to an IV dye for a cat scan, ended up in the er) so I felt that if I chose the Remicade, at least I would be in the doctor's office with an rn and the doctor would be on staff if I had a problem (I don't see the doctor when I go but the rn is checking on my every 15 minutes while being infused). My insurance is very good and all I pay is $30 each time I go. I have also heard that some people have site pain with the E and H but I've always had a good rn that puts the needle in my hand (my choice) and I really don't even feel it. I just sit back and relax in a recliner for 2 hours and read. Good Luck with whatever you choose. [ ] Newbie here! Hello Everyone, I'm and I was diagnosed about 6 months ago with RA. I started having cronic fatigue about 1 1/2 ago, pressed my primary doctor for almost 6 months to give me more tests and finally i had a positive ANA and was referred to a Rheumatologist. There I tested neg for Rh and they continued tested and after MRI and scans they saw many erosions on both sides and diagosed me w/ RA. I was put on azulfadine and just recently quit taking it. it was only for pain and wasn't stopping the disease, just easing the pain, and it was giving me mad yeast infections...ugh! so my doctor just prescribed me embrel shots. What is everyones opinion on the difference between embrel shots and the remicade iv invusion? I really don't want to be on anything, but i know i have to stop this disease because i'm only 31 an have a hard time opening jars and picking up my son. Any advice is welcome! eliSA
