I don't post often, but I read the digest daily. I am asking for prayers for.

my son, . He is coming from Denver, CO this Thursday to go to court for a

crime he committed 10 years ago here in Fairfax, VA He wrote a check on an

account that was closed, thought better of it, but was arrested for a felony

anyway. He was on drugs and an alcoholic at that time, but he has honestly beat

all odds! I am so proud of him. He is married, Father to 2 sons, 9 months and 1

1/2 and has been " clean " and sober for 10 years. He has truly turned his life

around, 1 in thousands.

I put up money for his bail so he could return to his family and job in CO back

in November after he drove to VA and turned himself in. I am not an enabler,

neither a beggar but my son deserves his chance in this life.

I am asking my friends to say a pray for him to NOT to spend any time in jail,

that he will be able to return to Colorado and be with his sons and still have

his job. He received some really bad news today, because of a program Fairfax,

VA began around 10 years ago their is a guideline based on a point system based

on former crimes. As I said, was an addict and in trouble for some years.

Even with a glowing report from the probation report based on research done on

's " new " life the last 7 years, the points for his juvenile crimes and an

indiscretion when he was 23 yrs old has given him a point score of a violent

criminal, which he NEVER was. The only person ever hurt was himself (and

of course his family). There wasn't any victim, no weapons ever involved, only

drug convictions and petty theft. attorney called him today to let him

know that his guideline points put him in jail for anywhere from 15 months to 26

months. The attorney asked that he not give up hope, but he felt it only fair

that knew what he was up against when he flies in later this week. When he

was here in November, I asked for the prayers of some of my closest friends and

I truly feel they helped him back to his family. I'm asking again for your

prayers and thoughts for us on Friday, Jan. 27th when we go to court.

Thank each and everyone of you and I sincerely hope this is a painfree day for

all. Thanks for you time and hopefully your prayers for my son.
