I am in the process of finding out if there was some type of infection in my

implants, since they came out with yellow gel like fluid not clear as they

should have.

I do know that as to date I have never been told I had any infection and all

my blood work other than the ANA came back normal so no infection was

showing in that way. Now it is possible that something nasty was growing

away in there so I am thinking Dr Kolb may mean infection in that way,

however I am not sure either, I wish I would have gotten the implants

analyzed sooner, but emotionally and financially I just wasn't ready or able

to do it, so now that I can I am, they are probably on the way to Canada

right now, and when I find out what was in them I will let the group know.

However I am supposing that allot of us may have had an infection going on,

one girl I know has her smooth implants, she got better faster than me for

sure, and she said they are very clear, with bits of something floating in

them, hmmmmm sounds gross, how does stuff get in there is what I am

wondering.

,

I think it grows!

The shell of an implant is semi-permeable, meaning body fluids can pass into

and out of the implant. Dr. Blais has suggested that the improperly

manufactured valve on saline implants actually act as a pump to facilitate

this exchange of bodily fluids and saline.

(see http://199.45.69.176/tony/Blais/035.html )

This means that the saline solution does not remain sterile, and in fact,

can allow for the growth of pathogens. I think what is seen is colonies of

fungal or bacterial growth inside the implant.

another reason why sometimes saline may even be worse than silicone gel,

cause silicone gel doesn't have a valve, on the other hand one PS I

consulted with showed me several implants one was gel, it left an oily

substance on the table, he said in his opinion gel was safe but that there

was a small amount of gel bleed in all gel implants, I left that office and

never went back, to bad I didn't do the same with the other one I went to,

he was so slick and sweet and handsome I trusted him, duh!
